Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
★★★★★ Liked Rewatched

Undoubtedly one of the greatest films of all time. It’s just so surreal yet also so emotional. The performances are all exquisite and there’s so much thematically to grab onto. This is one of the films that helped shape my taste in film and helped shape the person I am today. Masterful stuff.

I Am Frankelda
★★★½ Watched

I Am Frankelda is pretty solid. I’m a sucker for stop motion animation, so it’s not surprise I enjoyed this. The film is absolutely gorgeous to look at. Narratively the film is pretty ambitious. Not all of it came together for me but it’s hard not to admire it. Overall, I liked this. I recommend giving this a watch.

Find Your Friends
Watched

Find Your Friends is hilariously terrible. The acting is terrible across the board, and the characters are so unlikable. The exception is Helena Howard and her character. The film has no flow to it. Scenes go in and out without a real purpose. And when things start to kick in you just don’t care. Overall, this was awful. Kinda funny though (not intentionally).

When We Were Bullies
½ Watched

Fuck this short. This basically boils down to “screw the person who was bullied, the bully’s feelings matter more”. Just so self indulgent in the worst way possible. Jay Rosenblatt doesn’t care about the kid he bullied, he just wants to make himself look good. He literally says that the bullied kid doesn’t matter to the film, and says since he has experienced tragedy that he feels his pain and that they are one and the same. As someone who has been bullied this really pisses me off. Rosenblatt tries to absolve himself, but he basically proves that he is still a bully with this film.

Mea Culpa
Watched

Mea Culpa is classic Tyler Perry (derogatory). The dialogue is just so insane. The plot is even crazier. Just so many bizarre choices at every turn. The acting is also terrible. Honestly I’m at a loss for words. Overall, this was truly a kino experience. Tyler Perry is such an expert at making the worst films possible. Never change.
