It's sooo good to be back!! This is my second HoopTober Challenge, and I'm beyond ready to dive in again. This year's list has only 12 films I've seen before, but the more you watch, the harder it is to track down new gems. Besides, it's always fun to revisit old favorites, too!
At the end of October, my co-hosts and I will be doing a tribute to George Romero on The Podcast Macabre and focusing on his career. We will also be continuing several other ongoing series during the time of the challenge, so I encourage you to go check us out when you get a chance!

I've added in the notes for each film which box or boxes they tick off on the challenge list. Even though I'm going to be watching the mini-series and new cinematic release of "It" during the first week of September before the challenge starts (we are doing an episode focusing on the book, the mini-series, and the movie on September 10th), I just might get a viewing in again for the bonus points. We shall see! Good luck one and all!!! ... Here's Cinemonster's rules below:
-----------------------------------------------
I will begin as I did the last three years: I would like to do 31 horror films in October, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment(even more so this year) so I will start my 31 on September 15th.
I WILL ACTUALLY REVIEW THEM ALL (I really mean that). Those of you not new to the LB block know that horror is near and dear to my heart.
-I challenge anyone to do the same and use the TAG HoopTober4.0 so we can read each others stuff.
-If you are going to do it, list your link to YOUR list in the comments and i will add it to the intro to help others find your list. ( Hoop-tober index is HERE, 2.O HERE, 3.O HERE)
QUICK EASY RULES:
6 sequels (mix-and-match. 6 total)
6 countries
6 decades
6 films from before 1970
6 films from the following: Carpenter, Raimi, Whale, Browning, Craven, Tom Holland (mix-and-match, or all one)
3 people eating people (non-zombie)
1 Hammer Film
1 Romero Dead film
1 terrible oversight (use the following link, filter out the films you've seen and picked the highest rated film from the list that you can get ahold of) letterboxd.com/films/genre/horror/by/rating/size/small/
And 2 Tobe Hooper Films (There must ALWAYS be a Hooper film)
***FOR THOSE THAT LIKE TO DO EXTRA WORK: WATCH THE ORIGINAL AND REMAKE OF IT. YOU WILL RECEIVE A SHOUT OUT IN NEXT YEARS HOOP-TOBER. JUST LET ME KNOW WHEN YOUVE FINISHED ALL 33***
-review them all.(eek)
Clearly one film can satisfy multiple criteria. Viewing and reviewing will begin at 12:01am cst on Sept 15th.

(List subject to change depending on streaming availability of some titles. Updates and changes will be noted as they occur.)
Update 9/18 - Sinister 2 no longer on HBO Go. Traded it out for Insidious: Chapter 2.
Update 9/19 - I'm going to start adding my non-challenge horror viewings from 9/15-10/31 to the end of my list as I go. So everything after the "It" films is just me showing off.
Update 10/17 - Read the rules wrong. Had to swap out Martin (because it's not a Romero "Dead" film) for Insidious: Chapter 3 (for a sequel and then counting Day of The Dead for my "Dead" film).
