Greetings from the home of George Romero, Tom Savini, Chilly Billy and the perpetually awesome Jeff GoldBlum. This is Hooptober 4.O. Sadly since last year we have lost both Billy and George, but we have become a popular place for Richard Linklater to hang out. (which makes this Austin boy happy)
Last years version destroyed our first 2 years, and gave us a several hundred great lists and well over 1500 reviews, thoughts and impressions to read. The most enjoyable part for me, as always, was to see what everyone chose to watch, and the reactions to some of the stranger shit out there that people found.
I will begin as I did the last three years: I would like…

The most enjoyable part for me, as always, was to see what everyone chose to watch, and the reactions to some of the stranger shit out there that people found.
I will begin as I did the last three years: I would like to do 31 horror films in October, but that doesn't seem possible at the moment(even more so this year) so I will start my 31 on September 15th.
I WILL ACTUALLY REVIEW THEM ALL (I really mean that). Those of you not new to the LB block know that horror is near and dear to my heart.
-I challenge anyone to do the same and use the TAG HoopTober4.0 so we can read each others stuff.
-If you are going to do it, list your link to YOUR list in the comments and i will add it to the intro to help others find your list. ( Hoop-tober index is HERE, 2.O HERE, 3.O HERE)

-review them all.(eek)
Clearly one film can satisfy multiple criteria. Viewing and reviewing will begin at 12:01am cst on Sept 15th.
I apologize for the delay. Family related issues related to Harvey have been dominating my time. Add to that the much more minor issue of Tobe Hooper's passing and it made pushing this necessary.
Thank you to all who sent kind thoughts and encouraging words.
As a Texas boy, a horror fan and a Longhorn, Tobe meant a lot to me. Romero's loss has been great too and living in his hometown now gave me a great opportunity to see how much he meant to this city. Later in the week, I will be expanding on that with a remembrance. I will leave a link here for those who are interested.
No more sadness. Let's get on with it.
