Cinemonster's "Hooptober" is the only film challenge I really participate in, and it's a blast each year.
Anyways, here are the rules, and how I'm fulfilling them (though, as always, I'm sure this thing will change between now and Halloween, though I will still make sure to fulfill the rules because that's a large part of the fun).
6 Sequels (Dawn of the Dead, Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Scream Blacula Scream, Hannibal, Exorcist 3, Brides of Dracula)
6 Countries (Britain, France, Spain, Italy, New Zealand, USA)
6 Decades (I've definitely got that covered)
6 Films from Before 1970 (Old Dark House, Diabolique, Curse of the Werewolf, Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Birds, Brides of Dracula)

6 films from Carpenter, Raimi, Whale, Browning, Craven and Tom Holland (In the Mouth of Madness, Halloween, Darkman, Fright Night, Old Dark House, People Under the Stairs)
3 movie about people eating people, the luckiest people of all (Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, Silence of Lambs, Hannibal)
1 Hammer Film (Curse of the Werewolf)
1 Romero Dead Film (Dawn of the Dead)
1 Terrible Oversight (Diabolique)
2 Tobe Hooper Movies (Salem's Lot and Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2)
Bonus: Watch "It" and the remake (I was going to do that anyway)
In addition to honoring Romero and Tobe Hooper, I'm using "Silence of the Lambs" to pay respect to the dearly departed Jonathan Demme. It's also a great excuse to rewatch "Silence of the Lambs" anyway. In fact, there are probably going to be a lot of rewatches this year. I'm planning to revisit a lot of old favorites that I haven't watched in a while, though I'll sprinkle a few new-to-me movies in there as well to keep things fresh.
