Remember a time when you had the most amazing meal, with your favorite person, in the most amazing restaurant, served by a fantastic waiter at a time in your life when things were just all going well. Yeah? Well this is nothing like that. Prepare to be catfished... Tarkovsky style.

It's a movie that makes you search deep in your brain for the hard stuff. The stuff that makes you wonder what it's all about. Why we're here. Why bother at all.

I remember watching 2001: A Space Odyssey when I was much younger and thinking it was all just arty-farty nonsense. I really didn't get it. Now I get it.

There are some movies that require your absolute focus. If you look the other way, they bite you in the ass! Or worse, they sneak off while you are not paying attention and you lose them forever. This my friends is absolutely one of those movies. This is why we see so many extreme reviews. Like Marmite, Guiness and chopped liver, you either love it or hate it. It's a 1, or it's a 10.

So, put your phone in another room (no, seriously!), turn down the lights, evict the children and sit back for a couple of hours of the very best arthouse sci-fi you will ever see. This is spellbinding cinema.

Now, where is my copy of 2001... it definitely needs a re-watch.
