It's easy to forgive the rest of the cast for poor acting when the cat is going so method.

Didn't technically watch it but I did sit in my hotel room and perfectly remember it frame by frame over a sixteen hour period where I was in immense physical agony. At any moment I could've walked away from what I was doing but I didn't do that. I instead explored the boundless potential of the human mind and body acting in communion to complete a task for which neither were designed. Not only did "this task" hurt me the way that waking up during surgery hurts you but it triggered a sort of "anti REM" in me that made me feel like I had been awake for 75 hours doing manual labor with no break. My life can be cleanly divided into two acts now: what came before and what came after. I am infinitely worse off now that I've done this.

Fred Gwynne was delightful as always.

I hadn’t seen this in years and it really isn’t anything great until it takes that sharp left dark turn and then it gets rull good. If you’re in your 30’s then you know this movie was a huge deal back in the day and you know that Zelda was the ultimate nightmare fuel. I was terrified to watch her and refused to watch this for years because of her.

Fred Gwynne is great. Dale Midkiff can’t act but gee he’s pretty. It’s not like the people matter that much anyway because Church is the real star of this horror show. 😼

There’s the potential for a really great remake so fingers crossed! CHURCH 2.0
