de Laurentiis corp. strikes again. worn out sandals cinema. where's Arnie hammering this knucklehead shit down? cookie-cutter Gladiator blend. pompous platitudes, gruesome carpet-score, artificial humor, pg-13 fighting sequences, misogynies of exotic femininity and by that some nice chunks of racism. the Dragonheart 2 director drowns what is left of the film in kitsch. audience assault of the worst kind. how did this not get a golden raspberry nomination, respectively award?
is it bad that this is my gladiator
i feel so fucking bad but this film (to me) was awesome
i need more roman colin firth immediately, preferably in my room tonight
Sorry but I really liked it. I mean Excalibur? Colin Firth? Colin Firth as a roman legionary? Colin Firth as a roman legionary fighting? Colin Firth as a roman legionary fighting with a sword? Colin Firth as a roman legionary fighting with a sword and having the father instinct?
I have to love it.
This really is so bad it becomes hilarious. I have laughed so hard this last hour and a half. It's like a bad episode of "Xena, warrior princess", but lacking its humor and taking itself amazingly serious. The acting is laughable, it has "powerful" and cheesy music that make you cringe and the whole production looks like it was made by a ten-year-old child.
A rather cheap looking sword and sandal film that looks more like a pilot for a TV show. I was shocked that this cost about 60 million dollars to make. What a fucking waste of money! They could have given it to me to finance every film I have in my head, and we'd have 5 star ratings every time!
Featuring a who's who of TV regulars from Spartacus's John Hannah to Rome's Kevin McKidd and a few faces from Game Of Thrones, with Ben Kingsley and Colin Firth lobbed in seemingly at the last minute when they realised they had no names to justify the monstrous budget.
The story is nothing special, and nothing we've not seen better examples of. The few battle scenes are weak, poorly choreographed and not one bit exciting.
Last Legion? Last laugh more like, which is what I had when I moved it to my recycle bin.
if u asked me to explain this film… i couldn’t. all i know is colin firth had a sword and looked cool!

When you order a sandal epic from Wish. Strange story mix of Romolus and Remus and the Arthurian legend. Poorly glued beards, inappropriate cast, badly cut fights and top model Xena give themselves the knack. And the Lord of the Rings memory shot on the snow-covered mountaintop can't be missed either. Big nonsense.
Roman guy: “colin firth character, you are a true Roman.”
Colin Firth character: *continues to speak in a British accent for the rest of the movie*
