Alien slug moves from body to body and makes its host steal cars and do insane GTA-style 5-star level suicide by cop rampages. Rockstar Games owes this movie royalties. Can not recommend highly enough.

danny trejo's always just poppin' straight the fuck out of nowhere
Beautiful schlock about a difficult situation. The exact right tone for this premise. I won’t explain the premise to you because it’s better to go in raw. Don’t let the nerds convince you to put a “knowing the premise” condom on. It’s better this way.
It’s got some “baby’s first satire” beats with the senator but this movie rolls up its sleeves and does the hard work of straight-facing it’s own premise well enough that I found myself charmed rather than annoyed.
This is the role Kyle MacLachlan was born to play. Cannot imagine another actor handling this appropriately. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t also born to play Cooper. He was born for a lot of reasons. Most people are just born for the one (fucking) but MacLachlin is special. Possible his parents never fucked, much like a certain carpenter with good news for us all.
“He sees something he wants, he steals it. Something gets in his way, he kills it.”
Jack Sholder’s cult classic The Hidden is a sweet sci-fi fusion of Invasion of the Body Snatchers and every other 80s buddy cop movie ever made, the only thing that sets it apart from the others is emotionless FBI agent Kyle MacLachlan wielding a flamethrower and looking damn fine while doing it. ☕️
Police shoot-outs, alien-to-human body hopping galore, stolen Ferrari’s, high speed car chases—the amount of people that get run over throughout the runtime is mind-boggling! The Hidden is endlessly fun and successfully succeeds at getting even more thrilling with every watch!
Plus I sure do love seeing MacLachlan in a suit driving a Porsche so this is an easy five-star genre masterpiece. Swoooon.

Repurposes the paranoid, gruesome sci-fi horror of something like Body Snatchers/The Thing and the lean genre machine setpieces of The Terminator (complete with police station shootout) into an absurd and violent buddy cop actioner about an intergalactic chase between one alien who comes to Earth as an endlessly destructive force of consumption and overdoses on both American culture (Ferrari's, hair metal, cocaine, strip clubs, Grand Theft Auto style mass murder) and a cartoonishly callous disregard for human life (the pure bodily harm ownage on display in this movie...), and another alien who observes that same destruction, sees its rippling consequences and instead opts for a twisted but moving form of grace and compassion. Not before using a giant flamethrower on a…
Solid. Weird ass shit including a dog staring hard in the mirror, gnarly grossness in a few moments, and most importantly, a stripper now a host to an alien who fucks a man to death before stealing his car and going on a chase with the cops nipping at her heels. did I say this shit was wild? Because it’s fucking wild and fun. I like the way it blends horror, sci-fi, and the buddy cop dynamic. This really worked for me in ways I wasn’t expecting.

kyle maclachlan is a sexy lil alien
Combining dozens of clichés from both action and sci-fi movies, The Hidden somehow makes everything work and is far better than it has any right to be. Part buddy cop movie, part body snatcher movie, all awesome.
If you even remotely dig 80's action movies you owe it to yourself to check this out. And the opening 15 minutes are so, so amazing that you don't even need to invest much time to see that I'm right. Hell, the opening shot will hook you.
What if Men In Black was less of a quirky sci-fi movie and more of an awesome late 80s buddy cop crime thriller? In many ways, that is the premise of this outstanding movie that doesn't get the recognition it deserves.
Throughout his relationship and work with David Lynch, Kyle MacLachlan has been preparing for this role. Lloyd Gallagher feels like a precursor to his iconic role as Dale Cooper in "Twin Peaks," although the world he inhabits is more normal. Michael Nouri and he also have great chemistry together, which makes the film for the most part so entertaining. Nouri would be like the comic relief here, although it doesn't exist in the traditional sense. The idea of an…
Fire Walk with Me
Hot damn, this is so good. It's ostensibly a bodysnatcher riff but the paranoia and psychological implications of such a scenario are kept at a low, more accurately inaudible, volume, instead favoring a tone of straight-up action-adventure, akin to The Terminator but some weird version of The Terminator where you actually care about the cops being massacred by this evil, unstoppable creature.
I had not seen Twin Peaks when I first watched this movie four years ago, but man alive the parallels are unmissable. Kyle MacLachlan plays a strange FBI agent from Seattle partnered with local police in order to catch an evil entity that possesses human bodies. They eventually form a close bond despite their…
