definitely not the best film that steve zahn and leelee sobieski have starred in together
A decent horror movie. Movie takes place on a train in the middle of a snowstorm. A magic evil box arrives on the train and chaos takes place. Danny Glover has the biggest part....he is actually pretty good in the movie as all hell breaks loose on the train. Kudos to Leelee Sobieski in the lead female part. Clever viewers will spot references to The Maltese Falcon and Hitchcock.
I never knew I needed a hot and psychotic Leelee Sobieski slashing and dashing until now.
Before Bullet Train there was... Night Train! I mean, it's basically the same film where a handful of sketchy passengers aboard a commuter train try to kill each other over a certain piece of luggage LOL.
I never knew I needed a villainous performance from Leelee Sobieski. I severely miss her screen presence. She single-handedly carried the movie because Danny Glover and Steve Zahn were giving nothing. The storyline surprisingly packs a few twists, but most of them are fairly predictable, especially that old lady... called it early.
I need to comment on the exterior shots of the train and landscape. That CGI was atrocious, even for late 00's. I have no idea why the filmmaker insisted on embarrassing themselves by showing it so much. Eek.
It's *fine*. I wish I knew what exactly that mechanism was that was driving everyone to kill but OK. A one and done. 5/10.
Leelee Sobieski you are so very beautiful covered in blood being evil and unhinged!!!
My two favorite headers from imdb: "Christmas Death Train" and "Loco Motives." Both accurate, and both would be good alternate titles. This is kind of like a secret Hellraiser movie, but without Pinhead? A mystery Pandora's Box contraption entices & ruins the lives of all who look inside. Didn't know if I'd be on board (yikes) at first, but ignore the bad ratings, this is fun and goofy and honestly kind of suspenseful. Good acting from everyone and there's lots of snow and Christmas lights and crazy shit.
Brian King’s mystery thriller in which greed and dishonesty traps three people (Danny Glover, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski) when they locate a stash of jewels on board a train.
The movie is set at Christmas time, and concerns a corpse which is spotted on a train by two passengers. They understand that there are jewels amongst the perished man’s individual effects. In a bid to abduct the diamonds, the men try to determine of the corpse.
Danny Glover, Steve Zahn and Leelee Sobieski all give okay performances in their respective roles as Miles, Pete and Chloe, the conductor, the salesman finding it hard, and the young pre-medical student involved who don’t show a great deal of determination in terms…
Night Train (2009) is a movie that I recently watched on Tubi. The storyline follows a train conductor and two passengers who come across a dead body on the train holding an artifact of some sort that seems to be filled with invaluable diamonds and gems. They agree to hide the body and split the loot but that task isn't as easy as they anticipate.
This movie is written and directed by Brian King in his directorial debut and stars Danny Glover (Lethal Weapon), Leelee Sobieski (Joy Ride), Steve Zahn (Rescue Dawn) and Richard O'Brien (The Rocky Horror Picture Show).
This movie has a tremendous cast that wasn't well utilized. Sobieski was smoking though. The acting and writing is very…
Steve Zahn has developed a delightful habit of popping up in B-level films that turn out to be far better than you might have expected them to be. His Midas Touch deserts him here, though.
Hopes were pretty high that a re-teaming with Joy Ride co-star Leelee Sobieski and a Danny Glover appearance would turn this into the awesome little thriller that I was hoping it would be, but once the film throws you completely off course with a surreal twist about half an hour in and an absolute nonsense of an ending it pretty much falls apart.
The three leads are mostly fun to watch and, indeed, Sobieski puts in a shift here that is deserving of something FAR…
Steve Zahn can turn the most mundane horror into something I want to see again. Between Zahn, Gil McKinney in Grudge 3, and Kyle Gallner in Ghosts of Connecticut, 2009 was a very good year for hot guys in horror.
A throwaway thriller that may be deserving of, at least, some affection, "Night Train" finds its characters in a tricky game of relieving a train passenger of certain treasures. The narrative clicks in with Murphy's Law beats as the players become tangled in the lightly compelling intrigue. It is a solid story with too-easy resolutions, and the small-scale production performs serviceably. An audience may have fun with the film while it rolls, but the results are quickly forgotten.

21. A horror that takes place on a train.
2009's Night Train might have been a flop in every term of the word but there is something about it that intrigues me. This had to be a low budget movie as all of the scenes take place on a train and more than likely 2 to 3 cars were used for the entire thing and they changed the lighting to make it seem like more cars were used. The story is even simple. A guy dies on a train and 3 people discover that he had a box with jewels in it. For the majority of the movie, it appears this is…
