Cannibal Injun' Troglodytes. Yikes.

Don't you just love Kurt Russell? There's something about this guy. Maybe it's his intensely manly beard... Every movie I've seen him in he somehow plays exactly the same character in a new and interesting way. This time Sheriff Hunt (Russell) is joined by a cracking ensemble of actors that manage to really extract the best from what is, let's be honest, a pretty uneventful script (save for a few mega-violent episodes).

Richard Jenkins is such a great actor, and in this he stands alongside Matthew Fox, Patrick Wilson, David Arquette and a bunch of other great performers to really hold this together.

One guy worth a special mention is Sid Haig who played Buddy. It's only been a few months since he left us and this is the first movie of his I've seen since. What a loss to the industry. Hope you are having fun up there big guy.

On a technical note, the camerawork in this is really nice, supported by some fantastic costume design. Costume design. Ha, now there's something I didn't expect to be talking about today. Life is kinda strange like that.
