beautifully layered and keeps you guessing as you go. you question truth and how subjective it can be. balances commentary and compassion as all kore-eda’s films do; we love you king !

two characters say to tár,“you never sleep.” she says so herself that “sleep is elusive.” so why does lydia tár not sleep? we’re given the answer in the very first shot: haunted. 

that very word defines her. the past catching up to her, krista, the choices she has made to be in the position she’s in; all of which makes her unbearably haunted. 

in some ways this is a greek tragedy. so many questions so little answers. this film haunts me.

Equal parts tense and hilarious. The back-up dj doing that thing got me so bad. Rob Patt has great range. Unfortunately not 100% convinced with Zendaya but she’s cool. I want a cheeseburger
