Of the 307 films released in the Criterion Collection on laserdisc from 1984 through 1999, 224 of them have been re-released in the Collection on DVD, BD and/or UHD. The remaining 83 films that appear on this list have never been upgraded by Criterion from 12" to 5" media. While it's unlikely that many of these films will ever return to the Collection, there's always a chance that some of them will. In the notes you will find information on the latest home video release in high definition. If you're betting on any of these getting an HD release from Criterion, don't put your money on those higher than #56. Best bets are those lower than #34.
As noted, ten of these films are currently streaming on the Criterion Channel with the Criterion Collection/Janus Films opening logos. This increases their chances of getting a Criterion physical release.
