Another October. Another Hoop-Tober. Let's Get Started, Shall We?
What started as Cinemonster's open horror marathon challenge back in 2014 has since become one of the, if not the only, most awaited events on Letterboxd. Promising a thrilling time & never short on scary delights, Hoop-Tober has garnered an impressive following over the years and it's no different this time around.
To those taking part for the very first time: Welcome to the Madness! To those still on the sidelines: What's your excuse? It's fun. It's playful. It's challenging. And above all, it's an excellent way to catch up on all the horror films that have been sitting in your watchlist for a long time. Just go for it! You can thank me later!
The following films are the ones I have chosen for my contribution to Cine's Hoop-Tober 4.0, and will begin reviewing them from October 1st onwards (aiming for 31 horrors in 31 nights for the 4th year in a row). However, few films over the course of the month may get replaced, depending on either my mood or their availability.
Your Rules, Should You Choose To Follow :–
– 6 Sequels
– 6 Countries
– 6 Decades
– 6 Pre-1970 Films
– 6 Films from: Carpenter, Raimi, Whale, Browning, Craven & Tom Holland
– 3 Cannibal Films
– 1 Hammer Film
– 1 Romero Dead film
– 1 Terrible Oversight
– 2 Tobe Hooper Films
– Review Them All
P.S. For me, Hoop-Tober is all about having fun watching & reviewing horror films I've been meaning to watch, so whether they abide by the aforementioned rules or not doesn't matter to me.
