Experience First Events

Custom website design for a business launch, needing to be taken seriously by large corporations.

Design challenge

As a startup business in hospitality, Experience First was targeting large corporates. The founder therefore prioritised a professional, fit-for-purpose website as a business requirement. They just couldn’t grow with the original DIY website.

They asked us to design and build a custom site for their full launch, with two big goals:

  • First, to look like an established business from day one, in order to attract the trust and business of the right companies.
  • Second, to be easy for the website manager to organise and make changes, as events content is constantly changing.

Our goal was to make the website and its design look as good as, or better than it’s competitors. We think we’ve certainly achieved that.

Our solution

Not only was the visual style custom designed for their brand, the technical setup was also tailored to their needs too. This allowed for easier content management by their team.

Individual events are managed separately to pages, which allows them to be inserted into any topic page, as a section. The main events calendar takes events placed in the client’s Outlook calendar and feeds it into the Calendar page on the website. The feed also populates the ‘Upcoming dates’ section on some event pages.

The development work on this project was done in partnership with digitalgarden.co, a regular collaborator on our WordPress projects.

Our impact

Experience First have been over the moon with the website and the attention to detail we put in. Being able to give the impression of an established business from day one has put them in a competitive position. Without this custom approach they would still be using their original DIY website which was holding back growth.

Our goal was to make the website and its design look as good as, or better than it’s competitors. We think we’ve certainly achieved that.

In terms of growth, they’re really pleased too. As of June 2025, they had 36 leads and 6 sales, which is great for a small startup targeting corporate contracts – and they tell us the quality of the website was certainly a factor in that.
