Breakfast on Pluto

-- Cillian Murphy is seriously one of the prettiest men and he's proven that he is one of the prettiest crossdressers. Seriously? Can't he be ugly for once?
-- I wasn't that happy with the love interests but I still loved that they were all very different.
-- I was unhappy that in the end he left his mother, Eily, Phantomlady alone. Really? He waited all his confused boyhood years and majority of his adult life trying to fabricate a life for some woman who just ended up moving on to a new life.
-- I was very pleased by the soundtrack and how flipping pretty the movie was. Plus! Cillian had a killer wardrobe. Seriously. Sarah Jessica Parker would be envious.

Gone Baby Gone

-- Amy Ryan wasn't in the film very much but her performance carries the film. You can't help but pity her, be disgusted by her and need to make sure she'll be okay. She created this Helene, this coke ho.
-- Ben Affleck stunned me with how well he made this film. And then how well this film was casted. Seriously, it baffles me.
-- I was pleasantly surprised by Michelle Monaghan and then expected the solid performance from Ed Harris and Morgan Freeman.
-- Casey Affleck also gave a great performance and I usually (IMO) do not like him that much.
-- Lionel. The actor that played Lionel was even good. Even Bea was amazing. Seriously one of the strongest casts.
-- I can't wrap my mind around how well this film was executed. I just cannot believe how fucking good this movie was.

-- Trying not to be spoilery but if you watch this come talk to me about the last like ... 10 minutes or so. You'll know why.

WENDY AND LUCY

-- Michelle Williams deserves her hype in my opinion. Wendy made me cry two times and I don't really cry that often when it comes to characters in TV shows/movies. I don't get invested because TV shows can become lackluster (Heroes) or cancelled (Pushing Daisies)
-- I loved her relationship with the Walgreens guard. It always kills me when the once mean guy becomes the giant teddy bear.
-- I'm nervous that Michelle isn't getting Oscar buzz. (Anne Hathaway, her, Meryl Streep, Melissa Leo and Angelina Jolie used to be the talk of the critics)
-- I think this film was extremely pretty /shallow note
-- And can I just say this? It pissed me off that she left Lucy. She left Lucy because in leaving Lucy she was giving Lucy everything that she hadn't been giving Lucy. Everything that Lucy deserved and everything that Lucy would maybe never get.
-- Please watch this film, I really liked it.
-- Companion film would be HALF NELSON. Just because I want Ryan Gosling/Michelle Williams movie. Seriously, Best Actress/Best Actor 2011?!

Let The Right One In

-- It was probably the scariest film ever. No I'm lying. It was the most disturbing.
-- EW. The kiss scene? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? Oskar and Eli kissing over a dead body with blood on their lips? It was worse than Jax/Tara's love making in the same room as Tara's murdered stalker ex-boyfriend who tries to rape her. Oh 2008/2009. So far I've been traumatized.
-- Both the child actors are amazing.
-- I went Curves happy on the second picture I know. :/
-- PS: Second picture, first picture, second row? They would be in the remake of A CHRISTMAS STORY or the Swedish version. Y/Y?!
-- Having been left alone to watch this film I was scared, having the next day to think about it I was even more scared. Now I want to show this to everyone who watched Twilight and be like..LOOK. Vampires ARE not to be lusted after. Even cute as a button little ones! :)

PS: So far out of 2009. Towelhead and this film have been my favorites. I can't think of a good companion film for this like I have for all the others excluding Breakfast on Pluto.

TWILIGHT

WARNING. I would rather subject myself to torture than pay to see this film. The caps are of a cam version my friend had. Be weary. If I hated how the colors turned out I just put the picture in greyscale. WHAT? I can do that. Hah.

-- LOOK. If it ain't good ol' Stemy (as I call her)!
-- I live in Michigan and Taylor Lautner is from Michigan. I should be proud. Should being the operative word. Plus? HIS HAIR. WAS. SO. RIDICULOUS.
-- On the note above rumors are Taylor got booted from the series. Bummmmer. Just when the next film is focused on his character.
-- One of the most horrible book to movie adapatation I ever been privvy to watch. Seriously, God Almighty it stunk.
-- I read the series. It was juvenile at best and cannot hold a candle to the Harry Potter series. But the books are still better.
-- Robert Pattison did a phenomenal job with the task of trying to bring justice to such cheese.
-- Kristen Stewart! I could have expected so much more from you, but then again I understand her. She went into this and it was shot like an indie. A campy horrific indie with no afterthoughts. She shot this piece of utter shit and walked away hoping for straight-to-DVD success. Except, I pray that is why she was so terrible. I really do.
-- I'm looking forward to the new director. It would be so awesome if Alfonso Cuaron did the third one. Just on a 'He makes pretty movies' note. I don't want the next one to be CGI heavy but he did direct the Golden Compass and might know his way with using it (effectively LOL)
-- Good companion film would be Buffy (the movie). Because it's campy but 1.3 billion times bettter.
-- Last but not least. SKIN OF A KILLER? SPIDER MONKEY? Edward by far HAD the best lines. By far.

PS: I do NOT hate the series. I was enthralled with the first book when it first came out but it's not an obsession of mine or anything. So sorry if I ripped on the film.

I'm going to these posts for my 100 Movies in 2009. Hopefully I'll follow through. If not, hey. I'm not going to do one a day (I've watched 4 movies already this year) but try to just do them when I can. 2010 is pretty long away, so I'm sure I can keep up or catch up. First film:

TOWELHEAD

-- Aaron Eckhart and Maria Bello are some serious actors. Both play weak characters and both make me sympathize. Plus both are pretty.
-- Summer Bishil was fantastic but it wasn't super hard playing a meek 13 year old. At least she made it look fairly easy.
-- Toni Collette was a surprise. Of course I've read reviews/etc on this film but none have mentioned Toni. For shame, critics of the US. For shame.
-- I walked away from this film unsure of where I stood. I felt like I was watching How To Catch a Predator (if that pesky host was never there to interrupt) but at the same time felt that Jazerra wanted him or was so wrapped in her sexuality.
-- That in itself is my final point. Girl orgasmed maybe six times. I lost track. Seriously?!
-- One more thing, watch it. Then follow that up with PRETTY PERSUASION. Evan Rachel Wood is especially good in that.

Hi guys. I know I have been M.I.A a little bit lately. I have just been super busy with work and then thinking about what I'll be doing for college. It's hard being 18. It's even harder thinking about what you'll be doing for the next ... few decades. 1. Most beautiful place in the world? Why?

I really have no clue. As cultured as I feel I am, I'm not that into the world right now. I'm not that into anything. I'm a huge bore. Man Vs. Wild is my new guilty pleasure (it's marathoning on Discovery! as we speak and it just shows me how adventurous I will never be. But one place I really want to go to is France. Or even, *gasp* Belgium. If not for anything else but the fashion and the chance to learn their histories.

2. What foreign language would you most like to be fluent in?

Korean. It's the one that would help me the most. No one forced me in my life to learn it. And besides the Korean dramas, my grandparents, my parents and friends I had growing up, Korean doesn't play that crucial of a role in my life (*eye roll*) but it would really help. And just so I can actually be a half asian with a little more to boot. I'm Korean but I'm fluent in SPANISH. Who does that? Look what school did to me!

3. Would you rather be the hero or the sidekick?

Sidekick. I've always identified with sidekicks. Sure the heroes get all the glory, but the sidekicks are there for the harder times. And having a best friend for life who gets all the attention taken off of you doesn't hurt either. AND! Like in every cult tv, comic, movie show/franchise the sidekick gets a few moments of glory or even gets to go evil or rebel from the comfort of always being the good guys. (ie: SPN, BUFFY,CHARMED, etc.) All sci-fi needs are sidekicks who go evil. Makes for good television.

4. Favourite fashion designer or label?

I'm going to stick with Chanel. Just because I just bought a purse and some perfume from them. Having a job is fun. But then splurging it on designer items is even more fun/depressing. I am also very much into watching ELIE SAAB, PROENZA SCHULER, MONICA LLUHLIER expand. And a majority of my friends are fashionista(os)s!

5. Libraries or galleries?

Libraries. I love literature. I was in always in honors/AP english classes (until Senior year) because I just never related to a subject like I did to English. It's one of the greatest forms of communications we have. People get to relay their thoughts, their ideas, their everything on paper. And then reading it, relating to it, even living it just makes you feel amazing. I really love English, so Libraries. I mean you can say the same for art, but I don't appreciate art as much as I used to. (Studio Drawing Grade 9! Blame them! I now hate painting.)

Show Why You Gotta Brainfuck Me; A SPN SEASON 1 RECAP

THIS POST CONTAINS SPOILERS FOR SEASON ONE. BUT ALSO QUESTIONS FOR SEASON TWO, FOR WHICH I NEED TO START...NOW?

A while back I remember reading Supernatural was a show of pretty and should only be taken at face value. The acting was sub-par and the show seemed
to draw from THE X-FILES and BUFFY. I would've agreed with that a while back when I first tried to dip my feet into the fandom pool that is Supernatural.
But Supernatural isn't a pool. It's like an ocean. And yes, I am more than happy to admit I was wrong.

Supernatural does have pretty. But it has more darkly lit, low lighted scenes than any other show. The acting? I was really surprised by how good it was.
Jensen Ackles for instance. Whom, in my early days (ie: when he was on DARK ANGEL) shook me as just some bad boy with pretty pretty facial expressions.
But, I was wrong. As I usually am with shows of this genre. Even BUFFY and THE XFILES draw from BUFFY AND THE X-FILES.

Supernatural is a smart show. Maybe I'm taking it too seriously, but each episode has a clear cut formula. We see the boys on the road driving
to some classic rock song. They end up in a town that might have supernatural happenings. They camp out at a motel, figure out their plan.
They go and try and fix whatevers wrong. Darkly lit room time, crazy things happen. They solve it and are either chased out by a sheriff or
leave on their own accords. Heroes of the Night, that no one can know are saving people.

As the series progressed. I loved Dean more and could bear Dean, er Sam more as well. Jensen Ackles to me as I previously stated never seemed
like a great actor. Just an Abercrombie model who lucked his way into a hit. (CHANNING TATUM. Anyone?) And Jared? Fuhgedabutit.
He's always the pretty nice boy. But their chemistry as BROTHERS(!!!) really clicked for me. It made me really appreciate the show.

Another character I found myself liking? Was Meg. Who reminded me of Eden from Heroes. Both actresses sound the same way, a little. A tad.
Is it bad that I LOVED HER. That everytime she was on screen, I was like 'Dont hold back. Let your awesomeness shine through'. I teared up a little
in her death scene. And I kind of kept expecting her to be like 'Where's my Oscar? I'm not exorcised bitches' and do the Dracula trick where he stands up
from a lying down position, but more like levitates up...you know you know what I'm talking about.

Julie Benz! Amy Acker! Season One guest stars were in full fledged greatness. I kind of have this wish that they get as many stars
from other supernatural hits or just Jossverse onto the show. Yes, I am in one of those fleeting categories of people who wish
Sarah Michelle Gellar would guest star on some TV show. All she picks are indie films that get critcial acclaim but no
wide release.

One episode that got me. And I mean got me. Was FAITH. It was like A WALK TO REMEMBER + DEAD LIKE ME.
See only I can make comparisons that need to be further explained FOR anyone to get them.
Julie Benz is the Mandy Moore character who has cancer. Who isn't really scared of dying but believes God
has a greater plan for her. And there was a reaper. That's all I got for the DEAD LIKE ME comparison. But
did you see that coming? Oh well, then shut up! This is my post.

The episodes after Faith and leading up to Devil's Trap were all pretty awesome. However, I didn't like SOMETHING WICKED at.all.
It felt like that Buffy episode KILLED BY DEATH but what did I say before? I don't care that it draws from other series...

SAM IS PSYCHIC. Forgot to mention that.

DEVIL'S PARTY:
Is this a recurring theme (fans of s2 might be able to tell me):
Will they always be rescuing their father? Just a heads up would be good.
Like I said, I teared up for Meg. Even if she was only in four episodes; her arc? I liked it.
And the YELLOW EYED BASTARD? Was so cool. He was so badass. But also at the same time I love that they did that.
Tricked the boys something bad and then got him locked up in a room with them so he could explain where the series was going. And I still was
waiting to hear the plan for Sam.
Now, are you joking me? I was pissed that Sam held back. He was free. He shot the leg. Probably thinking the demon would be scared, but
then again, I thought maybe he was scared as well. Sam can be selfish. It is all about revenge for him. But at times, he still clings to his father
as only the youngest child can.
And then, Supernatural goes and makes my head hurt. I thought they were safe. I thought they would be a trio now. But then again,
John aka Daddy does have a recurring role on Grey's Anatomy (when Season One was still being filmed) so, they do this:
THEY GET SANDWICHED BY A BIG RIG.
/end DEVILS PARTY.

Though I consumed this show in four days. Shut off from many of the avid fans, and weeks of waiting for the next episode. I still was enthralled.
But here is one thing I just want to know: In Season Two, is the show like Dr. Who. DO THE WINCHESTER BOYS ALWAYS NEED A DAMSEL?
