About University of Lethbridge Dataverse

University of Lethbridge Dataverse is a research data repository for our faculty, students, and staff within the Borealis ecosystem. Files are held in a secure environment on Canadian servers. Researchers can choose to make content available to the public, to specific individuals, or to keep it locked.

Before depositing data, please contact the Library's Research Support Group (library.rsg@uleth.ca) so that you can be given the appropriate permissions to submit your datasets. Please note that U of L Dataverse uses a semi-mediated process, meaning that we will review data submissions for completeness, findability, and reusability before deposit.

To learn more about U of L Dataverse, Borealis, and preparing your data for deposit, please review our Borealis guide.

Gulbinaite, Rasa; Nazari, Mojtaba; Rule, Michael E.; Bermudez-Contreras, Edgar J.; Cohen, Michael X.; Mohajerani, Majid H.; Heimel, Alexander, 2026, "iGluSnFR wide-field imaging responses to 2-72 Hz flicker", https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/FF5F9M, Borealis, V1
Abstract Human primary visual cortex (V1) responds more strongly, or resonates, when exposed to ~10, ~15-20, ~40-50 Hz rhythmic flickering light. Full-field flicker also evokes perception of hallucinatory geometric patterns, which mathematical models explain as standing-wave formations emerging from periodic forcing at resonant frequencies of the s...

Ketler, Julian; Herman, Nicola; Chmilar, Suzanne; Laird, Robert, 2026, "Data from: Caloric restriction-mediated reproductive lifespan extension across multiple strains of the clonal aquatic plant Lemna turionifera", https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/HUN2YM, Borealis, V1
Abstract Lifespan extension due to caloric restriction (CR) is a well-established aspect of animal senescence that has been observed in many taxa. Contrastingly, there is much less evidence in plants, even though it is straightforward to manipulate CR by restricting photosynthesis through reduction in light intensity. One of the few studies to repo...

Logue, David; Vazquez-Cardona, Juleyska; Mower, Peter C.; Krause, Samantha; Bonnell, Tyler R., 2025, "Data for: Fight song: Variation in singing behaviour and song structure during natural agonistic interactions in a tropical songbird, Adelaide's Warbler (Setophaga adelaidae)", https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/EZSYJJ, Borealis, V1, UNF:6:YNf0a+B1Gan4eFSeWmWMkw== [fileUNF]
This dataset includes four csv files and one R Markdown file that support a study published in the Ibis journal (Title and abstract below). The 00_README document includes a general description of the data collection, annotation, and analysis and a description of the files and columns within each csv. Title: Fight song: Variation in singing behavio...

Abstract Wolbachia are obligate intracellular bacteria common in diverse arthropod hosts. Infections are spread from infected mothers to their progeny via egg cytoplasm. Establishment and spread of infections are affected by the number of infected individuals invading the novel host population plus the effect of infections on the production of fema...

Graham, Brendan; Hipfner, Mark; Wellband, Kyle; Motohiro, Ito; Burg, Theresa, 2025, "Data from: Genetic-environment associations explain genetic differentiation and variation between western and eastern North Pacific Rhinoceros Auklet (Cerorhinca monocerata) breeding colonies", https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/XUA3WO, Borealis, V1
Abstract Animals are strongly connected to the environments they live in and may become adapted to local environments. Examining genetic-environment associations of key indicator species, like seabirds, provide greater insights into the forces that drive evolution in marine systems. Here we examined a RADseq dataset of 19,213 SNPs for 99 Rhinoceros...

Logue, David; Bonnell, Tyler; Vazquez-Cardona, Juleyska, 2025, "Data from: On the use of double quantile regression and visual assessment to estimate performance constraints", https://doi.org/10.5683/SP3/4ALMZM, Borealis, V1
Abstract Quantile regression (QR) is a widely used tool for estimating performance limits in behavioral data. In Vazquez-Cardona et al. (2023, Behavioral Ecology), we applied mixed QR to estimate motor constraints in Adelaide’s warbler song, and measured performance as deviations from these estimated limits. A recent critique (Cardoso, 2024, Behavi...
