Conquest.eth
A Persistent and Permissionless Game of Diplomacy.
(An independent universe running inside our universe)

Abstract
Conquest is a game of diplomacy where players compete for the control of the universe. A universe filled with different species and worlds, full of new discoveries and artefacts of long forgotten civilizations. A game with lore to be written.
Conquest is a game of diplomacy and strategy running without servers. All of its logic and state run on-chain, on permission-less and programmable blockchains, like Ethereum. And contrary to most blockchain games, the game is designed to run forever with no condition of entry except for a staking cost (a risk you are willing to take to play the game, and that you can retrieve (and more) if you are successful). Conquest.eth is a game where players can join at any time. A permission-less and persistent game.
In Conquest, players stake tokens on planets to make these produce spaceships. Players can then send these spaceships to attack enemies or help friends. All of this happens in real-time but on a time scale of hours and days, helping players to play at their pace and plan with friends. And because the destination of each fleet is only known to the sender all sorts of diplomatic manoeuvres become possible. This makes Conquest, a fun social game.
Conquest is the first game to be designed to be persistent, permission-less and interoperable. Staking is used as protection against Sybil. And its use of smart contracts ensures that rules cannot be changed so that the community can build on top. A game but also a protocol.
Conquest is in development since 2020 and has been successfully tested among two alphas, one beta and the latest persistent version. Each time we improved and fined tuned the gameplay mechanism to reach a stable and simple core game loop. We also reached out to our enthusiastic players and are in the process of making conquest a community-owned game.
We are at the beginning of this journey though and we can’t wait to see the universe evolve and grow.
