Daily updates. On access prevention works and has caught 2 malwares before they installed, one on a "safe" site. Not fancy, not many bells and whistles, and uses little memory AFTER it has loaded; sometimes, at startup, can be a memory-hog. But not too bad for FREE.
I have found this resident scanning anti-parasite utility very effective in keeping my browser free of disruptive formally disruptive data-miners etc. Since using this I have not needed to use an other manually run anti-spyware utilities that are usually recommended. A bonus is the license authorises use in systems for both home domestic/student and also business and so removes any doubt as to supported usage. There is no manual scanning function so i suggest first run ones currently effective manual scan anti-spyware utilites to clean system to satisfaction, then uninstall, then install BOclean. Only one characteristic to make allowance for which is much longer boot up times due to auto-scanner of critical files at start-up, so I suggest disable any auto internet connection programs and manually launch them after all other startup programs are running. Highly recommended utility
