I realize I haven't done a "real" post here in awhile. Heck, I haven't even done a fanworks post, having done three pieces since my last one, including last year's
Holiday Card. I apologize for that, as well as for the
other two.
Truth is, I've mainly been hanging out at
Tsuki Board lately, a decision which has proven to be very bad for my wallet, but as a collector, that was inevitable anyway. It seems a lot of my friends and assorted contacts here either don't post much anymore, or have left entirely, and to a certain extent, I don't blame them. There's a lot of ads here when I'm not logged in, for starters, and my interests are obviously drifting back over into the collector's space, which has always had a weaker presence on LJ than on dedicated sites like Tsuki.
I have also been busy, as not many of you may know. We're leaving the NYC metro area in the spring for the other side of the country, mainly for Cy's new job, but also for a change of pace in general. NYC is pretty much dead as far as my own field goes; I haven't had a steady job in a couple years now, and freelance work is few, far between, and rarely anything good, or at least interesting. I don't have anything lined up post-move, but I do at least have a plan to keep myself busy. My current employment situation depresses me sometimes, and I'm still not sure whether or not I prefer staying at home and taking care of things on that end.
I feel like I've been neglecting
brainscraps lately, partly due to lack of time, lack of inclination, and lack of things to write about. Been wondering if I should expand the site's content beyond games, and also have an idea for a zine spinoff of sorts, but am not sure about either of those things. Then there's fanfiction; I've definitely been neglecting
AVChron, and that
Loveless prequel I want to write is still percolating in my head. As for the BSP itself, I'm currently mulling a large-scale overhaul.
Media-wise, I enjoyed the hell out of the
anime version of
Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, and recommend it, though it is heavily moe and may be a bit squicky for some, for that and other reasons. For manga, still enjoying the usuals, and happy that Vol. 12 of Eva finally came out, and also that
Princess Knight and
Drops of God have been
picked up by Vertical. Game-wise, I've been playing
Rune Factory 3 (possibly the best in the series),
Picross 3D (incredibly addictive),
Game Dev Story (simple, but cute and fun),
Plants vs. Zombies HD (BRAAAAINS), and
Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne (thoroughly mediocre).
Can't think of anything else to write about for the time being. I'm sorry this post took so long.
