"For what is a poem but a hazardous attempt at self-understanding: it is the deepest part of autobiography."
--Robert Penn Warren, novelist and poet (1905-1989)
:) Matt called me. I usually don't answer the phone, but I'm glad I picked up this time. I think it's the first time I've talked to him in a year or so. It was nice. Too bad we don't live closer so we could hang out sometimes. I miss his poems and talking about "our greeting card company."
Connections to people, ideas, and places keep me anchored in more ways than one. Sometimes I need to be anchored so I don't sink too deep. Someday it'll be so I don't go flying off too far to find my way back. I hope.
