But I have good news.

Announcing New Release!

For those of you who have been waiting for over a year, I'm happy to annouce that Today is the Day!

Frank and Becky's story is finally here. The reviews are starting to come in, and so far they are all very positive which makes me smile. I'm just happy that we got it out relatively on time and that it is now in readers hands.

If you've read anything in my Wild Romance series, you've already met Becky, since she's a supporting character in Wild Country Hearts and Wild Imaginings. Now she gets to tell her story and we find out how hard life has been for her since her husband's death, three years ago.

As for Frank, well we all knew he was a bit of an odd duck when we met him in Wild Imaginings. But now we know why. He's spent his whole life trying to be the perfect son to make his mother happy but now he's ready to forge his own path. Especially when he runs into his high school crush while visiting his uncle.

Review Time: Netflix's Persuasion

It has long been realized that a woman of good fortune must not look below her station to marry.

But what about love? Love should never factor into it as love can fade, but good family connections with the right people do not.

Persuasion has always been my favorite Jane Austin book. Probabaly because there is something about Anne that reminds me of myself. How easily influenced I was in my youth to do things that were not always in my best interest and lived to regret them.

If you don't already know the story, Persuasion is about Anne Elliot who turned down a proposal from the man she loved when she was seventeen because he did not come from money. She didn't want to turn him down, but was persuaded by her late mother's best friend to do so for her 'best interest'. The book opens with Anne, now 27, still unmarried and absolutely miserable. She puts on a good show for her friends and family, who never suspect how lonely she is. She misses her Captain terribly, and while has had decent proposals from others could not bring herself to marry them.

Now Captain Wentworth, whom when he was courting her was considered to be so ineligible, has made his fortune and returned in search of a bride. But will that be Anne?

There is something terribly romantic about a second chance at love with someone who your heart never quite forgot. I think that's why I've always loved this story. And while I felt Netflix's version told the story in a more updated way, for me at least, it lost none of the underlying heartache and sadness that is at the core of Anne's character.

There has been a lot of outrage on the part of the Jane Austin purists because this version does not strickly follow the book and Anne talks directly to the camera. But in my opinion it makes the story easier to understand. In the original version, there were certain elements of the story that confused me when I first read it. The romance was always easy enough to determine, but the other moving parts of the book with the other characters at times confused me. Mostly because of how society worked and at times the way the book and several movie versions played out made it difficult to follow unless you were well versed in the culture of the time.

This version lays out things in a manner easy to understand and follow. Sure, it's updated to make it more relatable, but it loses nothing from the story itself, and in my opinion adds quite a lot to it.

If you haven't already had a chance to watch it, I highly recommend you do. Laugh and cry with Anne as she gets the chance to win back the man whose heart she broke when she was influenced to give him up. It is currently on Netflix.

Release Day! Wild Country Hearts

I'm thrilled to announce that Wild Country Hearts is now available! This is the complete box set of books 1-3 of the Wild Romance Series and Peter & Kristina's FULL story!

Kristina is alone for the first Christmas since her mom died, caring for the stable full of horses, when Peter slides off the highway in the middle of a blizzard and crashes into her fence. Neither of them were looking for love, but forgetting their amazing connection isn't easy after they go their separate ways.

Happy Spring!

Well, almost spring anyway. Here in Maine we're at that stage where the snow isn't quite gone, mud is everywhere and flowers seem possible. Today it's in the 60's, the sun is shining and the weather report says SNOW ON SATURDAY? As my mother loves to say, 'You can't have everything!'

Because I'm so excited to finally have completed it, and my publisher said I could, I'm able to offer my newest release, coming on March 31, 2022, for $.99 until release day! Valentine's Day Getaway

It's Valentines Day. Are you doing anything special? I swear, whoever decided Valentine's Day should be in February needed to GET OUT of the house in the middle of winter and have a reason!

My husband and I always go to a bed-and-breakfast just to be somewhere different and reconnect. I did a search years ago for places that featured spa tubs for two (So romantic!) and found several within an hour or so from our home.

Breakfast!

This year we're going back to this quaint little B&B, called the Pryor House, in Bath, Maine that has amazing, 5 Star chef quality breakfasts. Seriously, she's amazing. The atmostphere just screams ROMANTIC.

Spending time on the coast with just my husband always seems to rekindle our spark in a big way, if you catch my drift! It seems like after Christmas there isn't much to look forward to until spring. Now that my single days are over, I'm taking full advantage of having a partner who also enjoys getting away together.

This year the snow has been ridiculous, I'm sure you'll agree, pretty much everywhere. My cousin who lives in Texas got almost a foot of snow last week and so did my sister who lives in North Carolina! (So much for my dreams of moving south to escape the white powder!)

ANYHOO

Happy 2022! I'm so grateful to be here, having survived my personal bout with Covid-19 when my family and I all got it in October. It seemed like everyone I knew all got it around the same time, but thankfully we are all still here. I know many were not as lucky, and so I feel very thankful.

Now to get down to what we've got planned for the coming year.

I know it's been a long time coming, but my publishing company is almost ready to announce the release dates for books 3 & 4 of my Wild Romance (Springfield Small Town Romance) series! Peter and Kristina's story comes to a Wild conclusion, with a few twists you may or may not see coming, in Book Three.

You may have noticed that we updated the covers for Wild Country and Wild Heart to be more in line with the genre of steamy contemporary romance.

Once the conclusion of Peter and Kristina's story is published as an eBook, it will be bound together with parts one and two and will be available in print as a full length single novel! I'm so excited to have that available for readers who prefer paperback books. The paperback cover reveal and title will be announced shortly.

Book Four sets up Frank and Becky's romance, where you'll encounter characters you've met in the first books and be introduced to more Springfield residents. If you've read Wild Imaginings (technically Book Five) already, then you've already met Frank and Becky. Book Six is the conclusion of Frank and Becky's story, and will also have more from Mark and Holly (Wild Imaginings).

I can't forget about Agatha! I'm currently working on her backstory and expanding Emma's Wish (Newsletter Sign-up Free Novella) into a full-length book. I'll give you more details on these upcoming projects soon.

I'm also planning to take Man Out of Time out of Kindle Unlimited and release it to a wider audience in April, so if you use Kindle Unlimited and want to read it for free, better grab it while you still can!

I know, I've been teasing you guys with this for a while, but this time I'm for real. Part two will be here September 30th! (Cue squeals and happy dances!)

Peter and Kristina were supposed to be a one hit wonder - meaning just a quick, fun read and on to the next book. But they had other ideas. For one thing, Peter can't get Kristina out of his mind. The groupies he used to think were fun now seem trashy and way too easy. Where's the fun in that?

As for Kristina, she doesn't have time to think about Peter, she has too much work to do around the stable. But something is bothering her about her mother's death. And her stepbrother, Roger is acting really creepy.

Of course Peter comes back, just in time to help her save the day. The story also features characters who are in other books in the series, like Cassidy, Becky, and Holly. Readers have been asking to see their favorite characters, even in books that aren't theirs and you'll be happy to find sneak peeks.

Frank and Becky's story is coming soon! But first, Katie has to run away. Who is Katie, you ask? You'll have to read the book to find out! She makes her first appearance here, in Wild Heart.

Man Out of Time will be available October 1st from all major eBook retailers and as a print copy book mid-October.

I'm very excited about this book and all the hard work that has gone into getting it ready. The first book in my Goddess of Destiny series, this book showcases Agatha as the Goddess who uses her powers to bring together soulmates, even through time.

If you've read my book, Past Destinies, this book is the updated version. I've changed Agatha's part completely and updated a few other points of the book. I've also expanded scenes and given a more in depth look at the characters and the world.

For subscribers of my newsletter, I'm also going to give a never before revealed peek into Agatha's backstory. The day she discovered her goddess powers and realized she wasn't like her human sister. More to come on that front as I expand her world.

Wild Romance in Springfield

Here's the deal. Springfield is a fictional town I made up. I needed to have a place where all my characters for this series could live. It's a small town in New England. Could it be Massachusetts? Sure. Could it be in Maine? Absolutely. Or in New Hampshire or Connecticut or Vermont. Not New York, but you get the idea. It's small town New England. And even though there are real towns in New England that have that name, my town is Fictional, just like the disclaimer says.

When I started the Wild Romance series, I was pretty sure I wanted it to be a steamy romance series. Then I realized parts of it might have christian elements, but that I wasn't going to compromise on the steamy. Voila! Introducing the Steamy Contemporary Christian Romance. Unfortunately, there isn't a category for that in Amazon, or anywhere else. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to create it. Apparently I love a challenge.

This series is all about people you can relate to. Sure, they're fictional, but they're based on people and places in real life. One of my biggest pet peeves when reading Christian Romance was how they always stop short of the 'goods', so to speak. Just when I'm getting excited for the characters to discover each other that whole part of life is avoided and glossed over behind closed doors. Some readers like that. Some don't. I don't. I want to follow the whole journey. If a reader doesn't want to, they can always skip the naughty parts. (Wink)

Where did I come up with the 'Wild' idea? It all started when I was a kid in church. All the gossips, and yes there were many of them, would whisper about the 'wild' daughter of so and so and how those miniskirts were taking her straight to hell. The sad part was she was the sweetest person and one of my best friends growing up. She wasn't wild at all, she was just exploring life outside the 'safe' confines of the church. I thought if I could take the idea that these couples weren't really doing anything wrong but according to church gossips they were 'Wild' and 'out of control', then it might make my series more relatable and realistic.

Starting with Mark and Holly's story there will be six books overall. At least that's what I've planned so far. Who knows how many I'll actually write after those are completed. I'm weird. I know I am, but it doesn't stop my sense of humor from overtaking my good sense at times. Mostly I hide my weirdness from the world but, after the year that has played out so far like a badly written fantasy novel, my mind has finally snapped and I've decided to just say 'to heck with it' and write whatever comes to my mind. Not in my books, obviously, I still want you guys to like them. But here on my blog. This cartoon sums up my feelings perfectly for the last book I've written. That's when I realized that I don't do it for anyone but me. I want the books to be perfect and if readers find them and love them, then that's awesome but if no one does, then I won't let it define my writing.

I've always thought I loved writing romance, but as I've gotten older I think I like writing all kinds of different things and while romance will always be my first love, don't be surprised if you see me dive into fantasy or women's fiction where romance isn't the focal point of the book. The woman's journey to find herself is. Today's world has a lot of differences and being from a small town in Maine, there is a lot of things going on that I don't really identify with. I love planning. Well, let me clarify. I love planners, something I found I shared with fellow Indie Author, Sarra Cannon. Writing out my agenda for the week, month or quarter gives me a little thrill of hope that I will accomplish what I'm setting out to do.

When I started this new journey of being a full-time author I knew that I was going to have to find a way to be disciplined in order to accomplish my goals. Organization hasn't always been my strong suit, so that was a huge priority when I started on this path. Lucky for me, Sarra has already been down that road and has helped pave the way by designing her own helpful planner for writers, which I found on Etsy.com. Created specifically for writers who follow her HB90 Quarterly plans, it's helpful for any author who is looking for a way to organize the chaos. Planning wasn't the only thing I found overwhelming as a new Indie Author. Fortunately I found the help I needed by following suggestions made by fellow indie author and publisher, Sarra Cannon. She's got a YouTube Channel that is amazing for newbies, like myself. Ten years ago she started on her own journey, and has taken the time to develop a channel with all sorts of helpful tips and tricks that she's learned along the way. Without her guidance I can honestly say I would have given up a long time ago.

Sarra has taken the time to create so much free content. You can find it both on her YouTube channel and in printable content on her website. But beyond that she has a class that starts on June 14-20th for learning her 90 day planning method. Big Changes

As you may have noticed, Unexpected Destinies is no longer available for sale. I pulled it down after ten years because it needs updating and I wanted to make a few editing changes. I will be re-releasing it very shortly under a new name.

Past Destinies is also getting an update and as of this writing, only the print version is available for sale. Once those copies are gone, they will be gone for good, so if you want an original version of the book, better get it now!

These books will be available soon under the Goddess of Destiny series and I will be releasing Agatha's story soon.

How Life Changes

My husband taking on the Terminator!

The world turned upside-down recently. Like most of you, I've had to make adjustments in the new reality. I used to have certain times of the day I could work, and now, with two kids home all day when they aren't over at their father's house, it's very different. My schedule has been a bit wonky, to say the least.

Having my husband home all day has also been a bit different. At first, I felt like I had to spend all day with him but then we both realized that we got more done if we assigned ourselves separate tasks. Since getting married almost a year ago, we've never spent so much time together. I know that it has shown me that I finally got it right with him. I don't think there is another man I could have been quaranteed with for a month where we wouldn't have started fighting. Instead, we've fallen into a routine. When we have tasks to do together, we easily complete them by working together. The most drama we create together is when the kids are home, and then it's the family type stuff about getting them to clean up after themselves and to stop watching so much television.

After seven years of being alone and figuring it all out on my own, I'm now in the happy dilemma of figuring out how to share the woes and chores with another adult who is pulling their weight. I don't have to stress about how bills will be paid on just my salary because he's there to contribute. My husband is a superhero to me and I'm so thankful to have him in my life. He is the best change to have happened in my life, aside from my children of course.
