Though its main functionality is rather common, BleachBit is actually a rarity on the market: it's a system cleaner with a surprising license type: open source.
BleachBit can remove various types of unnecessary files from your system, and by performing this job it leads to benefits like freeing of additional disk space, increased privacy level of your data, and better functioning of your system. It accurately locates and then offers to delete junk files like cookies, cache files, logs, temporary files, and so on. It will clean the junk data created by the system but also by applications like web browsers (Firefox, Opera, Chrome, IE, etc.), Flash, Skype, Pidgin, TeamViewer, and so on.
BleachBit is also pretty simple to use. Its interface looks a bit unpolished and cannot be customized, but it's also straightforward and easy to handle by anyone. Handy additional features like file shredding, space overwriting, and support for command line operations are also available.
To cut a long story short, it's easy to understand why BleachBit is my favorite disk-cleaning tool. Though a disk-cleaning application that works perfectly fine, is easy to use, completely free and without any ads might sound like an utopic fact, BleachBit actually made this concept a real one.
