Now I'm working part time as a camp councilor at a summer day camp!@_@(At least I don't have to be at work at 6:30 am^_^) My convention pics can be seen here http://images.cosplay.com/gallery.php?member=13604&cat=500 and be on the lookout for some more upcoming pics from Dragon Con 2006 and AWA 2006

Back with my report for Kunicon! Overall, I had fun, considering the fact that this con was small in attendance and not a whole lot of cosplayers(Another con was going on at the same time in North Carolina) My friends and I dominated the con and won in the cosplay events we participated in(2 of my friends and I did Kill Bill) The staff were nice and I met the voice actor for Goku and Lancer from Robotech.(It was funny when they had all of the voice actors in the room, they were really drunk and a few words that come to mind is "con-ass" and "Richard F***ing Coxx!) Of course the con could use a little help like picking anopther hotel to host the convention and also making sure that the convention doesn't take place the same time another nearyby convention takes place. Anyways, you can see my pictures at http://images.cosplay.com/showgallery.php?cat=18142&userid=13604

Getting ready to head to Atlanta for Knicon! I just hope that this con doesn't suck( After hearing about the one in Miami, I'm a little hesistant), but they redemmed themselves at St.Louis and some of my friens are going along as well while my other friends will be going up to NC for convention that is going on at the same time as this one. I'll give a full report after this weekend, (As well as some pics!^_^)

Sin City Rocks!!

Saw Sin City today with my friends. It's a really good movie, Puts Kill Bill and all of the other comic book movies to shame. Cool visuals, good acting, and a lot of violence and nudity. My favorite characters were Miho(kick ass Japanese prostitute) and Elijah Wood's character Kevin(he's like a darker cannibalistic version of Charlie Brown) If you haven't seen it yet, you must I highly recommend it!^^

Back to school....

I'm back in school, but my spring break was pretty good. I just kicked back at home and went to the movies and saw The Ring 2. It was a pretty good movie, not all that scary to me and I found it pretty amusing and laughed at some inappropriate scenes(like one of the victims decideing to resolve the curse in 2 minutes). On Saturday, I went with some friends to Momocon. It was a small convention but it was free, hosted in a nice location(Georgia Tech) and a lot of the attendees liked it better than Anime Weekend Atlanta. Anyways, here are a few pics!

Boy what a weekend!
For starters, I went on a field trip with my drawing class Friday. and we attended a art gallery in LaGrange. The artist's work was really good, mostly dealt with intimacy among couples and children and how couples express different emotions towards each other even though they're so called"happy". Anyways, my art teacher wanted us to pick 5 works and do 8 thumbnails for each piece. Since I was pretty lazy, I grabbed my digital camera and took some snapshots(hehe) After that a few friends and I ate out at Golden Corral and headed back home(We were suppose to go to another exhibit, but due to some bad directions,we gave up)

On Saturday, I went out with my mom to pick up some photographs and I get a call from my younger brother saying that the yard was on fire(Apparently while he was cutting the grass, the lawnmower exploded and things got really hectic.) Luckily no one got hurt and the house didn't burn down. But I couldn't saw much for the backyard and our neighbor's yard... If I had my camera, I would've taken pictures but since I didn't just trust me, it was really bad! But they didn't sue us for the damages and my brother is not in trouble.

And now I'm back at my dorm and guess what? Starting next fall semester, I'll be working as a Resident Assistant and will be earning some pocket change!^_^ I thought that I wouldn't get the job since I failed to attend one of the two group evaluations, but I got it! That's all for now! 5 more days until Spring Break!

It's been awhile but I'm glad to announce my report at Katsucon 05! It was my very first out of state con and I had a lot of fun!^_^ I met a lot of cool people and some celebrities including Johnny Yong Bosch(Too bad I didn't get his autograph) and the JROCK band Psycho Le Cemu. They're a really cool band and have a nice sound(even better live!) and I got a picture with them and their autographs too!^_^ My friends and I sat next to them during breakfast on Friday, but we couldn't take pictures due to copyright laws in Japan about taking unofficial pictures of celebrities. My pictures can be seen at http://images.cosplay.com/showgallery.php?BRSR=0&userid=13604&cat=14462&sort=

My roommates were realyy cool and we had a lot of fun (even though we were in a small room for 7 people) We were also pretty hyper since we had a lot of Coke and snacks in our room and even made a Coke can pyramid. There were a few things wrong with the con, like certain events and panels being pushed back, and the power hungry staff members(not to mention the never ending line to the dealer's room) but I still had fun, I met a lot of cool cosplayers and PLC fans. Now I need to get another set of costumes ready for Momocon(free con!) so I'm looking pretty forward to that

Here are some autographed pics of the band(BTW, they're all guys)

I got an email from Jpophouse.com and I have to pick up my PLC concert tickets at the booth. I hope this doesn't turn into a disaster since there's going to be a lot of people in line waiting for their tickets and their checking I.D.s(it would suck if only one person was checking) I purchased the V.I.P. pass and a photo session ticket. Unfortunately, getting an autograph from PLC is easier said than done. This is what the email said:

Due to copyright restrictions, no personal pictures or video recording
(digital or otherwise) can be taken of Psycho le Cemu. If you choose to
break this stipulation, then your equipment WILL be confiscated by the
proper authorities.

NO cameras, video recorders, camera phones or any other form of
multimedia equipment will be allowed at any of the events.

Due to contractual agreements with the record label, Psycho le Cemu
cannot personally give autographs at all events, unless otherwise specified.
There will be autographed items at available for purchase at all of the
events.

but it's not the same you know? But I guess it'll be ok since I can get a picture with them.

Rob

Soory for the lack of updates. Been busy working on my art projects these past few days before I went back to school. School started up today and I'm now taking Life Drawing, 3-D Comp., Psychology, Oral Speech Communications, and Eng. Comp II. So far my drawing, oral communications, and English II classes are pretty good. I'll take my other two classes tomorrow. The good thing about my schedule is that I have no evening classes!^^

My little brother woke me up early as usual(This time around 7 not 6 as last year) and I shared a kodak moment with my family as we opened presents. I got the new Star Ocean Till the End of Time video game, Final Fantasy X(To complete the set) Spiderman 2 and the X-Men Collection DVD's some new clothes, Sesshomaru action figure and last but not least, my very own digital camera! Now I don't have to keep taking my mom's anymore!^_^ All in all, it was a very nice day!

I'm Back

Sorry for the lack of updates. School was starting to becomea living hell for me these past several weeks. Luckily, all my hard work paid off and I survived the first semester of college! It was tough because I also had to refrain from the internet while I prepared for finals. But now, I'm done and I'm looking forward to spending the holidays with my family(not to mention taking a break from college and all^^) I got my final grade from my English composition and thanks to God, I received a Christmas miracle by passing that class with a B! I struggled a lot in that class since I wasn't really a good writer, but I worked hard on my final exam. My proffessor was moved by it so much, that instead of getting a C+, he gave me a B! I also did well in my other classes too!

Now that I'm on break, I'll be drawing some more ideas for my comics and watching some anime and jpop/jrock performances!^^ Well, that's all for today. Happy Holidays!!^_^

AWA Review

AWA was a lot of fun this year! ^-^ I met a lot of cool cosplayers and there were a lot of cool costumes! I could only go for 2 days since I had some unfinshed business to take care of on Friday. Anyways, I got up early to attend the con and meet my friend Aleathia(She was cosplaying as White Mage Yuna and I was Baralai) One thing that was different from last year was the registration line. If you didn't pre-register and didn't want to use your credit card, you got stuck in a long line. Anyways, after I got my pass(and getting some pictures taken) I entered the costume contest(which was a long process)and people decided to make things easier by grouping together. There were a lot of Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts cosplayers as well as Naruto but the most popular costumes were the Tetris group, a person dressed as a Pocky Box and the Wing Zero Gundam. Last year, the most popular item was the Naruto headband and this year it was the character mascot hats(which looked really cool) Anyways, the costume contest was a lot of fun, especially backstage. One cosplayer collided into Man-Chii and Morpheus and Trigun were dodging each others bullets(one was moving really fast and the other one was moving really slow)And late at night(if you're one of the partying types) they had a rave called Anime Sushi Cyberia and also a AMV Rave. Both were a lot of fun and you should definitely try it they have it there again!^-^ And before I left, I got authographs from Jennifer Sekiguchi(Mamimi from FLCL) Kari Wahlgren(Haruko from FLCL) Larissa Wolcott, and Fred Gallagher(Megatokyo)Overall, it's been a really fun weekend!^o^

Here are a few pics from the con. More can be seen at http://photobucket.com/albums/v68/bladechild/AWA%2010/

Breakfast Club During Hurricane Season

Sorry for the lack of updates. my computer was in the shop, but it's working now. Anyways, I had a pretty good four day weekend(especially for one who live in a town that's smaller than Jonesboro and has nothing to do) Since the hurricane closed school down for 2 days, I've made a few new friends. Two of them didn't really have a lot of friends since they started college and I also became friends with one of my neighbors who lived down the hall(I'm not saying that everyone in the dorms should all be friendly, but they should at least try to know their neighbors since you're going to live near them for a year) To help time pass, we decided to have a small hurricane party and watched some movies like Half-Baked, A Knight's Tale, Monty Python and the meaning of life(not as funny as the Holy Grail)and even Alice in Wonderland(like the drug references) Anyways, that's all for now. Be on the lookout for some AWA stuff

School Daze

The "youngest" of the bunch is finally in college. So far everything is okay. My class schedule is decent(wish I didn't have an evening art class) but I can't really complain. Last week I won a cd player for playing Black Jack! On my campus the school host a event once a month called Friday After Dark. They have a bunch of activities in hopes that people will actually stay on campus and not go home on the weekend. Don't plan on returning home this weekend for Labor Day(Will be at Dragon Con this weekend!) Well, that's all for today. Later!

Today, I moved into my dorm at West Georgia. Staying in the Strogzier dorm(which is pretty nice compared to the other dorms) Anyways, things are good over here. Saw some familiar faces and I have an ok roommate!^^ He's pretty cool. He wants me to go to some thing called Rocky's(based on the Rocky Horror Picture show) I think I might decline that offer. Tomorrow is another busy day as i have to take a small exam and go get my books. Well, that's all for today.

I'm back!

I'm finally back from Vegas! ^-^ I had a lot of fun while I was there and I brought back some pictures too! This time, my family and I stayed at a hotel called Circus Circus. It was actually a fun hotel since it had a nice arcade, some circus shows and an indoor amusement park. I also visited other hotels/casinos like Luxor(The Egyptian one) Excaliber(castle) MGM(lion) and New York, New York. Most of them had things for people underage to do while others, well you pretty much couldn't do a whole lot(^-^;) But some of the things you must check out in Vegas is the water show in front of the Belagio hotel and last but not least the Lance Burton show(If youhave a lot of money or are able to win free tickets) Well, that's all for today. Later days!

Sorry for being late.(need to kick that habit! ^-^;) Anyways, just letting everyone know I'm still alive and not dead in LJ. For those that want to know what happend since my last entry, I've graduated from high school(Thank God!) Anyways, it was alright. I wish we didn't have the ceremony so early in the morning. To make matters worse, it was really hot outside and the speakers were taking thier sweet liitle time with their speeches(reading it to us like if we were slow or something) I will miss all my friends, but I am glad to be of that place! And pretty much all summer,I've been busy helping my dad out with his election campaign(btw, he didn't win) but he'll try again in the next two years. While dealing with that stuff, I attended orientation at my future college West Georgia. It's actually a lot nicer than I thought, and I saw some familiar faces, even some from my elementry school(small world heh?) Well, that's all for today. Ja ne!

One Step Closer...

Once again, it's another late entry, but it's better late than never! Anyways a little messege to those manga readers out there. New series, Tsubasa, xxxholic, and Negima are out. I highly reccommend you guys to check these books out.Tsubasa reminds me of Kingdom Hearts without Disney as Sakura and Li are in a parallel universe and must venture through other worlds of CLAMP in order to save Sakura, so you're sure to see some familiar faces! xxxholic story is also involed with Tsubasa, and Negima is like Harry Potter meets Love Hina(after all it's done by the same guy who does LH) I"m one step closer to getting out of JHS! I'll be taking a graphic design course at West Georgia and my parents got me a emachine lap top complete with a dvd player and a dvd/cd burner!!! I hope that West Georgia is a good college and all. It's a pretty good campus and its art program is one of the top 3 in the state.

It's been a while...

After being absent from LJ from several weeks, I'm finally back. I wish that I was in a more happier mood but a lot of stuff has happened since my last entry. This month, I've been preparing myself for the S.A.T.(which I had to take today) but that wasn't the main problem. An old friend of mine died in my old neighborhood after being shot in the head from some teens from a rival school. I knew him since elementry school and he was a good kid who was pretty fun to be around. I hope that his family is doing well. Also, my parents withdrew my application to the Art Institute of Atlanta. I know that it's pretty expensive and all, but what really made me mad was that they did this without telling me and I felt that all that work I did just to try to get in that school was all for nothing. So pretty much I need to do good on the S.A.T. in order to get into a good college like West Georgia or someplace like that(My parents want me to go there with my older sister, especially my mom) I might just do what most my friends are doing which is take the year or do something that I never thought of doing(join the military for a year or two) At this point, I don't know what I'm going to do but in the meanime, I'm just going to focus on graduating from high school and hopefully get away from Jonesboro for a while.
