R\u00e5ngedala is a locality in Bor\u00e5s Municipality in the county of V\u00e4stra G\u00f6taland. This was the seat of the local parish with the parish church in its center. Today it is home to a small community of around 420 inhabitants living in mostly one-family homes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Short History of R\u00e5ngedala<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e5ngedala Parish had its origins in the Middle Ages. It had earlier a stone church of unknown origin, which was replaced in 1848 by the current church. The parish acted as the local government up until the Swedish Municipal Reform of 1862. This was when the parish’s responsibilities were split between the church congregation and the new civic government of R\u00e5ngedala Municipality. The new municipality survived for about 90 years before it in 1952 was incorporated into Toarp Municipality. Toarp became a part of Dalsj\u00f6fors Municipality in 1967, which in turn became a part of Bor\u00e5s Municipality in 1974. The church congregation is since 2014 a part of the Toarp Congregation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Things to Do and See<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It is the 19th-century church that is the most prominent building in the area, but it is not unlikely that it is the sports center of R\u00e5ngedalshallen <\/em>that attracts the most visitors. That should at least be the case if you compare the size of the parking lots. It is located next to the local school and is where floorball and other indoor sports are played. In addition to these two, it is a rural landscape to explore here with forests and farmland in the vicinity. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

R\u00e5ngedala Church<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The parish church was inaugurated in 1848 as it replaced an older stone church. It is a white stone church that is located a short distance to the west of the residential area. The church is since 2014 a part of the Toarp Congregation within the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Sweden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
