What is Runewager?

Runewager is a free-to-play sweepstakes casino and sportsbook inspired by the popular game RuneScape. Launched in late 2024 by OffTick Limited, it stands out from the crowd by offering both casino games and social sports betting under one roof. While details about its parent company are scarce, the platform provides a highly unique option by allowing players to use in-game RuneScape gold for purchasing and redeeming.

How to create an account

The process to create an account is straightforward. Players can register by linking their Google account or the old-fashioned way with a username, email, and password.

We found the process very easy to complete, and we were signed in as soon as we verified the code sent to our email address.

AML & KYC policies

When it comes to both the Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies on Runewager, the information is somewhat limited.

The Other Policies page states: “From time to time we will require users to complete identity verification in certain circumstances, including but not limited to: Suspicion of fraudulent or irregular activity, creating multiple accounts, age or residency verification, any other time at our discretion in support of compliance. If you are required to KYC, it will be done with the aid of a 3rd party.”

The information is spread around a few documents: The Terms of Service, AML Policy, and Other Policies. It feels a little disjointed. This sort of information should be more transparent and easy to find.

When we chatted with the support team and asked them about the KYC policy, they claimed that Runewager was a no-kyc gambling site. But the for any online gambling site, be prepared to complete the KYC if asked. Like their Terms of Service mention, they can always ask when they like.

RuneScape connections

On Runewager, players can purchase and redeem Fun Cash and Sweep Cash using both Old School RuneScape (OSRS) gold and RuneScape 3 (RS3) gold. To outsiders of the RuneScape world, the connection between the game and a sweepstakes casino might seem odd, but the answer lies in tradition.

Or you can claim a 20% purchase bonus when you buy a Fun Cash package that includes between 5 and 800 Sweep Coins. This bonus comes with a wagering requirement of 8x.

To claim either of these bonuses, you must be logged in and visit the promotions page. There you can opt-in to any of the available promotions.

VIP program

While Runewager keeps it simple with the bonuses that are available, they have put a lot of effort into the VIP program.

With 7 levels, you can be rewarded with level-up bonuses, rakeback, free spins, birthday bonuses, and more. The rewards come thick and fast, with daily, weekly, and monthly rakeback. So if this is a site you can see yourself playing at for a while, there are good rewards tied to your wagered amount. There is also a poker tournament every Sunday you have access to as a VIP.

This is an open and inclusive VIP program, so all you need to do to join is start wagering on the platform.

Their rewards page lets you track your progress through the VIP levels and claim bonuses as you play.

Payments & crypto

An interesting feature of Runewager is that you can purchase Fun Cash and redeem Sweep Cash with in-game RuneScape Gold. Runewager supports both Old School RuneScape gold and RuneScape 3 gold. The payment methods vary depending on whether you are purchasing or redeeming.

Purchasing

Runewager has very good purchase options including crypto, debit/credit cards, Google Pay, Apple Pay, bank transfers, and RuneScape Gold. When purchasing, you are informed of the amount of free Sweep Cash you will be rewarded.

Redeeming

To redeem Sweep Cash, players must complete a standard 1x playthrough requirement on their free coins and play through at least 10% of any purchased Fun Cash.

Customer support

Where Runewager suffers in our experience is not providing enough information, and this is true of the FAQ page, where there are a small number of questions addressed and the answers are very brief.

When writing reviews, we first try to soak up as much information as we can. Runewager has made this difficult by not providing a detailed guide.

Once you log in you will see the live support icon at the bottom right of the page. We contacted the live support to ask a few questions and to gauge their response.
The support was on hand but the responses were sluggish (about 5 mins between answers) and lacking detail. They have ‘articles’ in the support section but only two. Again, this is an area that causes a bit of concern.

Should you play at Runewager in 2026?

Runewager is a polished gambling site when it comes to the casino games and the interface. It works well and looks great on mobile and desktop. They offer a solid range of original games and over 2,850 casino games altogether. They are also one of the few sweepstakes casinos to operate a sportsbook.

But there are a couple of things that make us want to tell players to use a bit of caution when approaching this casino. Critical details like KYC verification requirements are left vague. The FAQ page overall was answered with brief information. There is an edge of laziness or rush to some of these things which do not inspire confidence.

So while it stands out for a good game selection, and a nice platform, there are things that left us feeling hesitant to promote this site more confidently than we already have.
