Monday, 8 June    

Today is World Oceans Day.   

At 10:00 a.m., the Secretary-General’s Annual Memorial Service to honour the United Nations personnel (civilian, military, and police) who lost their lives in the line of duty from 1 January to 31 December 2025, including fallen colleagues from the Funds and Programmes, will take place in the Trusteeship Council Chamber.    

At 11:00 a.m., at the General Assembly Hall, there will be a high-level debate on “Preventing and combating illicit trafficking in wildlife and other crimes that affect the environment”. The debate will continue in the afternoon.  

At noon, there will be a briefing by La Neice Collins, Spokesperson for the President of the General Assembly, this will be followed by a briefing by the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General, broadcast live on UN Web TV.  

The guests at the noon briefing will be Mr. Steven Hill, UN Assistant Secretary-General for Legal Affairs, Ms. Bahia Tahzib, Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to the UN, Mr. Rafael González Quirós, Director of the Oceanographic Centre of Gijón and Mr. Fabien Cousteau, Aquanaut, Oceanographic Explorer and Founder of the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center. They will brief on the third World Ocean Assessment.  

At 1:15 p.m., in Conference Room 5, there will be an event entitled “Protecting People and the Planet: Innovative Approaches in Addressing Crimes that Affect the Environment”, held on the margins of the high-level debate on the theme “Preventing and combating illicit trafficking in wildlife and other crimes that affect the environment”, co-organized by the Permanent Missions of Brazil, Ecuador, Gabon, Germany, Kenya and Peru, in collaboration with the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).   

In Geneva, the 114th annual International Labour Conference will continue until 12 June 2026. Government, Employer and Worker delegates from the ILO's 187 Member States are addressing important world of work matters such as decent work in the platform economy, a transformative agenda for gender equality at work and social dialogue and tripartism.  

Also, in Geneva, the 42nd session of the Committee on the Protection of the Rights of All Migrant Workers and Members of their Families will continue until 12 June.   

In Vienna, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors meeting will be held from 8 to 12 June.   

In Bangkok, the Asia-Pacific Trade Facilitation Forum x Paperless Trade Week will take place from 8 to 12 June.      

Tuesday, 9 June  

The 19th Session of the Conference of States Parties to the CRPD (COSP19) will be held from 9 to 11 June at the United Nations Headquarters in New York. The opening meeting on 9 June will be held in the General Assembly Hall. The Secretary-General is expected to deliver remarks.  From 10 to 11 June the Conference will take place in Conference Room 4 at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The meeting is being organized by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).        

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.        

In Geneva, the UN Information Service will hold its bi-weekly briefing for journalists.

Wednesday, 10 June        

Today is International Day for Dialogue among Civilizations

From 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on 10 June, and from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on 11 June, the ECOSOC Management Segment will be convened in the ECOSOC Chamber at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The meeting is supported by the UN Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA).  

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.       

In Vienna, the 69th session of the Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space will take place from 10 to 18 June.  

Thursday, 11 June     

Today is International Day of Play.  

At 10:00 a.m., in Conference Room 6, there will be an event to commemorate the International Day of Play. This event is being organized by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the Permanent Missions of Bulgaria, El Salvador, Jamaica, Kenya, Luxembourg and Viet Nam and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).   

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.    

At 3:00 p.m., the Muscat Plan of Action will be launched in an event organized by the Permanent Mission of the Sultanate of Oman and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC). The Secretary-General is expected to deliver remarks.   

In Geneva, at 1:30 p.m., UN rights chief Volker Türk will launch "a global alliance to mobilize, to influence, to uphold, to protect, and to advance human rights."    

Friday, 12 June        

Today is World Day Against Child Labour.       

At noon, the Spokesperson for the Secretary-General will hold a press briefing, broadcast live on UN Web TV.   

In Geneva, the UN Information Service will hold its bi-weekly briefing for journalists.   

Also, in Geneva, the UN Human Rights Report 2025 will be launched.   

Today, the World Health Organization (WHO) is expected to release its Global Status Report on Blood Safety and Availability. The report will be released ahead of the World Blood Donor Day, marked on 14 June.
