A BIT ABOUT ME...

Hi there!

My name is Sang, and I've always been a self-starter! I found my first business selling tween-focused newspapers at 11 years old, simply because I love writing and the arts. Little did I know, that venture of mine was the fire that kindled my interest in business & entrepreneurship, so I went on and create 3 other start-ups during high school: one in fashion retail, one in home decor, and one in food & beverages. One thing they have in common? They're all impact-driven, I donated parts of my revenue to local charities with causes that are close to my heart. 

Currently, I'm a third year business student at the University of British Columbia (#2 in Canada, #35 in the world, #1 in my heart), specializing in Marketing and Business Analytics. But most importantly, I'm a learner of life... I just learn best that way! :)

As a business and technology enthusiast, I have had the opportunity to work with top-tier tech companies such as Cisco Cloud Security in marketing strategy, LinkedIn Learning in business development & influencer marketing, and ZaloPay of VNG Corporation (Vietnam's leading e-wallet, internet pioneer & first unicorn start-up, backed by Goldman Sachs, Tencent & GIC) in product management.

I value self-starter spirits, growth-driven attitude and harmonious collaboration. I love to cultivate family-centric teams with strong values: in my humble opinion, that's the top performing one! You can find me at my best under when I'm interacting with other people, ideating something innovative, creating impactful strategies, and immersed in a fast-paced environment. A few words that people often use to describe me are: passionate, optimistic, ambitious, inquisitive, impact-driven, innovative, creative, entrepreneurial, hardworking, organized, dedicated & proactive. Some disclaimer that I would add on: occasionally a control freak when it comes to cleanliness and organization.

Aside from my professional endeavours, I am a lover of psychology, traveling and all things creative. That's why being a freelance Cultural Commenter at Kantar Consulting, a hobbyist photographer + travel Youtuber, and an occasional singer is my side-hustle! I'm also huge fan of fried chicken, I'm ALWAYS happy to grab fried chicken.

Oh, I love to challenge myself outside of my comfort zone too! Every year, I try to do a few things.. as for 2020, some of my finished goals are:

☑️ Attend my first technical hackathon to improve my product management skills (nwHacks 2020)

☑️ Learn how to ski 

☑️ Learn Python (well.. I'm learning it right now - update you again at the end of April)
