Max Malins Selected for England Rugby!
Former Felstedian, Max Malins (fhc02-15), has been named as part of the England rugby squad this Saturday (14 November) vs Georgia in the Autumn Nations Cup at Twickenham.
Felsted's Director of Sport Charlie Knightley comments; "We are delighted for Max - this is such a proud moment for Felsted, with so many of us being part of his journey through both the Prep and Senior School. Max was a multi-talented sportsman and one of our first Sports Scholars at Felsted; he could have gone in a number of different sporting directions as he was also a very talented hockey player. We have all been big supporters in his professional rugby pathway post Felsted and have enjoyed his involvement with us over the past years, when he has returned to inspire our current pupils. We hope you will join many of us in celebrating this moment tomorrow.''

Max, now aged 23, can operate at full back or fly half and is a former Felsted 1st XV, England U18 and U20 international. He joined Bristol Bears on a loan deal from Saracens in July 2020. The England match will be shown live on Amazon Prime at 3pm and broadcast on BBC Radio 5 Live.
Director of Rugby Andrew Le Chevalier comments; "We are all delighted to see this news after an outstanding season for Max. He started it playing for Saracens before ending a long domestic season for Bristol Bears (where he is currently on loan), helping them secure a European Title; winning the Challenge Cup where he scored one of the tries of the season. We knew when Max was playing for Felsted 1stXV when only in Yr11 that he had a bright future ahead of him in the sport, regularly causing issues for the opposition with his trademark 'show and go' or his 'goose-step'. This would often leave many of our opposition chasing shadows and more recently these skills have caused many professional players the same problems when he has the ball in hand running at them. When Max left Felsted having played for England U18 and signed his first professional contract with Saracens I knew that we would see him in an England shirt. It is a special moment for Max and his family, I would like to wish them all the best for tomorrow when he runs out at Twickenham to make his International debut."
