IAAS (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences) is the biggest student organization in the field of agriculture and related sciences worldwide. IAAS was establishedin 1957 in Tunisia, and started with only 8 member countries. Since then, the organization has continued to grow, connecting over 10,000 students, as well as nearly 100,000 alumni from 55+ member countries. IAAS was founded with the aim to foster the exchange of knowledge and ideas between students, promoting global collaboration, and preparing members to create lasting impact on local communities and their food systems. With these ideas at the heart of our organization, as IAASers, we believe in the common vision of “Think Globally, Act Locally”.
For over 60 years, we have been empowering young people to engage with the world's pressing food and agriculture challenges. At IAAS, we are actively working to address these challenges through our ongoing projects, which focus on food security, climate action, local revitalization and community empowerment. We have over 40 global projects, which are categorized into five different themes which are Women in Agriculture (WIA), Village Concept Projects (VCP), No Food Waste (NFW), IAAS Delta projects (IDP) and One health project (OHP). Together, these projects are combined in the IAAS Global Project Competition (GPC). The GPC was initiated after the Covid-19 pandemic for members of IAAS to bring innovative ideas from the ground and translate them into sustainable societal change. In this competition, we look for projects that positively impact our society, are led by youth members, and which also contribute to the financial independence of our local committees. With these initiatives, we aim to empower IAAS members and to show the positive impact that communities can make through youth led projects.

For the past few years, we have been working closely with BAYERS, EIT Food, FAO, WFF, and Wageningen University, and Various Youth Associations. We are now renewing and expanding our partnerships for the upcoming year. We are participating in various UN events and Conferences like UNFCCC,UNCCD, UNCDB. We also have Study abroad programs for the university and exchanges programs for the students in farms. As well as this, we organized global project competitions to support young ideas and innovations led by IAAS local committee members.
