Underworld: Limited Edition 5-Movie Collection

I give it 5 stars only thing is they stacked all 5 movies on top of each other. and one was loose, but it did not hurt the movie. What I did used a 3-sleeve case for 3 movies and used a 2-case sleeve for other 2 movies what work perfectly fine. I don't like movies stack on top of each other easier to scratch. then I taped both cases together. The ends you can't open both together. Kinda like a book you open up. protect the movies more.

Dvds come two films per disc which I found out I actually like. Came in perfect condition, no issues with discs. Nice clear sharp image, good quality. For example, I've received a couple of DVDs that looked like they were old-school VHS. These ones didn't. Price was really good. Customer service was good. Didn't take too long to arrive from time I ordered. Very pleased with my purchase.

All five movies on each disc are great. The first one is unrated and longer than than the original and the rest of them are fun to watch. Kate Beckinsale is absolutely adorable, beautiful and talented actress. The only disappointment is no digital and the hub that hold the disc isn't great but highly recommend it and two thumbs 👍🏻 up.

The most best movie I've ever watched just remember to watch in the right order

Underworld 1-3:

Films are naturally very grainy, hard to tell if this is true 4k scan or upscale but does overall look much better than previous blu rays. However they could be a bit sharper. See technical issues more in 2. Underworld 1 comes with both editions and extended cut is worth it. But generally speaking these three are not looker films as they are naturally designed to look a certain way artistically. However lighting and colors are great and it’s never too dark. Great HDR. Wish it was Dolby Vision though.8/10

Underworld 4:

Easily the best looking film out of the collection. This looks like a true 4K scan, not sure if it is, but it’s digitally shot and was designed when Sony did a great job with movies as 3D was a thing which made all films look good as everyone focused and depth. So naturally this film excels in this area. Darks are not too dark as there is a balance between the depth of everything. Highly recommend this one. 10/10

Underworld 5:

Sadly this one from Sony is complete trash. Same scan as previous 4K blu ray. I mean come on. The last 20mins nobody can see much. Absolutely terrible HDR grading. Very disappointing they didn’t adjust the balance in the ending as no matter on what tv one has it is way too dark as this film was poorly edited. Mid lighting needed to be adjusted properly. Sadly this film is good and it is naturally a 4K scan but the last part of the film is unwatchable and practically an audio movie as it’s terribly lit and nobody can see much. 0/10

The box set is just like Resident Evil Box Set BUT this one actually comes with hard cases of each film inside unlike resident evil. I think resident evil one looks better but this one might be better long run as it has hard cases for each film so they are protected better.

This Box Set is worth the price for 1-4. Regarding 5 Sony should be ashamed as that film is ruined and they had a chance to change that by adjusting the lighting towards the end of the film but they did not do anything to that film and gave the same crappy version. Overall 7/10

Great for those who enjoyed the series like I did.

If you are an Underworld fan like me who wants to get a collection of DVDs to play on your laptop or TV anytime you like, this is the perfect deal for you. 18 $ for the entire franchise of 5 movies. Standard definition, as you’d expect for regular DVDs, and it looks just fine on my device. If you want a higher resolution, please upgrade for blu-rays(which will only cost you 7 more bucks, sounds fair to me). There are 3 disks in total, instead of 5, and they’re stacked on top of each other on a single side in the DVD case. Fortunately for me there’s zero damage on the disks, nor the case, and they all can be played smoothly on my DVD drive. The first disk contains the original Underworld & Underworld: Evolution, the second disk includes Underworld: Rise of the Lycans & Underworld: Awakening, and the third disk has only one movie, Underworld: Blood Wars, the last one in the franchise.

Each movie is dubbed in French, you can choose either the original English or French for audio, and there’re French/English subtitles available. The third disk is somewhat different in format as there’s a 10 minutes advertisement in the beginning(which you could skip), and short clips for special features of the movie can also be found in the menu. Moreover, you can choose scenes in the movie to start playing from, and this feature is not available in the other two disks.

Vampires, werewolves, the movie lives up to the expectation of its genre as “action/horror” and, of course, Selene(Kate Beckinsale) rocks.

Overall, I would give it a 5 star.

A review for the 4K collection which was delivered yesterday (26/11/21) not for the regular bluray part of the set. Also, I haven't watched all the films yet!

Therefore, this is a review for the 4K versions seen so far. Put very briefly then, the 4K disks are in my view awesome quality.

For the standard bluray disks, testing for 'playability' only, they play as expected. As mentioned elsewhere, the Rise of the Lycans as noted elsewhere is not UK region so you need a multi-region bluray or, swap it if you already have the UK bluray!

So far then, I offer a five-star rating (I haven't deducted for the region as I bought the set for the 4K versions.)

It is excellent

Man!! I finally got it! ;) and it's been an amazing jaw-dropping view of the films.

The HDR in the films really does so well.

The soundtracks are amazing.

The first 4 Movies are 2K upscaled to 4K UHD HDR. Still shows some graining here and there but really that is not something that is in the way of your viewing pleasure.

The last one is Native 4K

Reading other reviews here, people are complaining about the set not being fully Region Free and in some players not playable.

First of all: All 4K UHD Discs (worldwide of any movie, not limited to Underworld) are Region free.

What's going on here is that only the (NON 4K) blu-ray 1080P disc of Rise of the Lycans is Region A Locked.

Something Amazon should have mentioned maybe?

A mistake by Sony? Who knows.

But considering how everything looks in 4K UHD HDR I do not see this as a big issue.

Subtitles: Not a big fan of subtitles myself but do have to mention that there are NO Dutch (Nederlands) Subtitles present.

Another thing Amazon doesn't mention correctly on their sales chart.

But All things considered and what I already knew about the set after watching a few reviews before buying this it's an Amazing set and I'm blown away by the quality of all the movies.

The Art is a nice touch and doesn't feel cheap at all.

And the covers around the actual case are not unwelcome too with beautiful artwork.

A true must-have for the underworld Fan.

Boxset came in perfect condition and on time, however when it came to watching the 3rd movie it says that my blu ray player can't play it because of region locked yet all the rest works no problem. Very disappointing
