Immerse yourself in the wonders of the night sky every Tuesday on the High Line! The friendly team from the Amateur Astronomers Association—with whom we’ve been partnering since the park’s opening—will be there with high-powered telescopes, ready to reveal the secrets of the cosmos.
No experience is necessary and telescopes will be provided between sunset and park closure.
This High Line program is free and open to visitors of all ages. No RSVP is required. Stargazing is offered every Tuesday from April 7, 2026, to October 27, 2026.
Stargazing on the High Line is subject to cancellation due to overcast conditions or inclement weather. If a stargazing session needs to be cancelled, we’ll add an alert to the top of this webpage.

Here’s a taste of what to expect:
About The Amateur Astronomers Association:
The Amateur Astronomers Association was organized in 1927 to promote the study of astronomy, by offering free night sky and solar observing, weather permitting.
In addition to their sidewalk outreach, they provide economical classes in astronomy to members, sponsor free lectures at the American Museum of Natural History, visit NYC schools at no charge to teach kids about our universe, and produce our own newsletter, Eyepiece. Lastly, they offer a podcast, AAA Sky, available on all popular podcast platforms.
The Amateur Astronomers Association has been hosting weekly observing sessions on the High Line since 2009.
