Lights, hammer, action!

On this season of your favorite reality renovation show, four design teams compete to turn a home into a business.

Posh design editor Tabitha is desperate to transform her parents' crumbling Cotswolds manor into a themed inn. It's the only way to keep them—and their menagerie of animals—from moving into her tiny flat.

Tabitha is teaming up with Tim, a brawny, rugby-playing builder who needs the prize money to pay for his own … complications.

He also happens to be the jerk who ghosted her seven years ago.

Now they must work together to win the cash prize, but they can’t be in the same room without sparks flying—and that’s not just the faulty wiring.

This was such an easy, enjoyable read that I flew through.

The mix of a small town setting with a reality TV renovation show felt fresh and well executed, adding a fun layer of energy to the story. It carries a cozy, slightly chaotic charm while still feeling grounded in real emotions and relationships.

Tabitha and Tim were so easy to root for. Their history as childhood friends turned something more, then falling apart, gave their dynamic real depth. The banter felt natural and playful, but there was always that underlying tension from everything left unsaid. Watching them slowly rebuild trust and find their way back to each other was satisfying without feeling too heavy. The side characters, especially all the animals, brought so much warmth and humor.

It’s not overly intense, but that’s part of the appeal. It’s warm, comforting, and easy to get lost in, with just enough emotional weight to keep you invested. The small town vibes, second chance romance, and opposites attract dynamic all come together really well.

A really enjoyable story that hits all the right notes.

Thanks to Grey's Promotions for the ARC of this book, I absolutely enjoyed it.

Inn Love Again was a fun lighthearted read, especially for those who love a good renovation show! Our FMC, Tabitha was in quite a pickle, essentially taking care of her parents instead of the other way around. She was working full-time in London and spending her weekends working on their home in the country. The reader should definitely feel for her as she was doing her best to help them of out of troubles they were in due to bad decisions, they continued to make!

She advised them it would be best to turn their home into an Inn and use it to set up animal loving singles! Mom and Dad didn't seem as excited about this idea as she was unfortunately. Tabitha had the "best in the county" Timothy as the contractor working on her parents home, turned Inn. As this is a romance novel, it couldn't be that simple right? Tim was one of her best friends growing up, BUT they "had a moment" a few years back now Tabitha DID NOT like Tim much at all anymore.

I absolutely love an enemies to lovers trope and Brettkelly wrote this one well in my opinion. Tabitha and Tim had an enjoyable back and forth banter throughout the book that had me wondering will they or won't they? As an animal lover, I got a kick out of the animals Tabitha's parents had at their home, they provided comic relief at times when her parents were being PITAs!

Inn Love Again got me in my feels as a romance reader and a woman who likes to do home improvements (or dream of them)!

Inn Love Again was such an enjoyable read. Every moment of the book was a great experience. I definitely recommend this book to all the romance lovers out there, and those who love renovation shows. Tim and Tabitha’s story had a long history of ups and downs and they definitely did grow through out the book. Both struggled with there own issues , plus issues they had together and to see them grow and work together was truly amazing. This book is a great spring read to get you out of the winter blues.

Thanks to Grey's Promotions for the chance to read this book.

Inn Love Again by Jody Brettkelly was exactly the kind of feel-good, emotionally satisfying romance I love to get lost in. Set around a charming, yet chaotic, inn and filled with heart, humor, and just the right amount of drama, this book completely pulled me in from start to finish.

What really made this one shine for me was the atmosphere. The inn itself almost feels like its own character—Tabitha envisions it to be cozy, welcoming, and full of possibility, even while it is currently chaotic. It creates the perfect backdrop for a story about second chances and new beginnings, and it gave the whole book such a vibe.

Tabitha and Timothy were such a joy to follow. Their connection felt natural and genuine, even though they've known each other forever, an event seven years ago turned them from best friends to enemies (I love a good enemies to lovers trope, especially with as much history as these two). I especially appreciated how their romance developed at a steady pace—it wasn’t rushed, which made the emotional moments land even more. You really get to see them grow individually as well as together, which made their story even more satisfying.

I also loved how the book balances lighter, feel-good moments with deeper emotional ones. There’s humor, a bit of tension, and plenty of heart, but it never feels too heavy. Instead, it leans into that comforting, hopeful tone that makes you want to stay in this world a little longer.

The side characters added even more charm. They helped bring the setting to life, keeping the story light and humorous. They made the story feel richer without ever taking attention away from Tabitha and Timothy.

Overall, Inn Love Again is a 5-star read for me. It’s cozy, romantic, and full of heart—the kind of book that leaves you smiling long after you’ve finished. If you enjoy small-town romances and stories about fresh starts, this one is absolutely worth picking up.

💘 Hammer, sparks… and a little too much sugar? 💘

3 ⭐️

There’s something undeniably charming about a crumbling manor, a chaotic renovation show, and a second-chance romance packed with unresolved tension. Inn Love Again delivers exactly that: banter, buried feelings, and enough sparks (emotional and electrical) to keep things lively.

Tabitha and Tim have all the ingredients for a compelling love story: history, hurt, and that irresistible “we can’t stand each other… or can we?” dynamic. And honestly? When the book leans into that tension, it works. There are moments that genuinely made me smile, and the premise itself is fun, cozy, and easy to sink into.

But here’s the thing; I think this one was just a little too sweet for my taste.

The writing style took me a while to settle into, and for a good chunk of the book I felt like I was on the outside looking in, rather than fully immersed. While I can absolutely see the appeal, especially for readers who love light, feel-good romances, I personally struggled to connect as deeply as I wanted to.

That said, I have a lot of respect for what the author set out to do here. It’s warm, whimsical, and clearly written with heart. Even though it didn’t completely click for me, I can see it being someone else’s perfect comfort read.

Thank you to Grey’s Promotions for the e-ARC, and congratulations to Jody Brettkelly on the upcoming release (April 2nd)!

This was a genuinely enjoyable and refreshing contemporary romance read.

I had the opportunity to read this as an ARC, and I’m truly grateful for it.

What stood out to me the most was the setting. The integration of a reality TV concept into a small-town romance felt unique and well thought out. As someone who usually visualizes such settings through shows, seeing it play out on page—with structure, timelines, and character dynamics—was an engaging experience.

The story has a steady, easy flow that makes it a great binge read. The banter between the characters adds a light, natural charm, and the slow-burn progression keeps the reader invested without feeling overwhelming.

While it may not be an intensely emotional read, it delivers exactly what it promises—a comforting, trope-driven romance that is both entertaining and easy to get into.

The small-town backdrop combined with enemies-to-lovers and opposites-attract dynamics worked well together and created a cozy, immersive reading experience.

Overall, a warm and enjoyable read that I’d recommend to anyone who enjoys light, character-driven contemporary romances with a unique twist.

Thank you again to the author for providing me with this ARC—I truly appreciate the opportunity and would love to explore more of your work in the future.

This book was cute. 🥰 I am so thankful that I received this book as an arc. Tim and Tabitha’s chemistry comes off the pages. They both have misconceptions of the other one. Tim thinks she is loaded and that he wouldn’t fit into her high society. Tabitha was mad that Tim ghosted her years ago and never told her why. They are both doing this reality show because they both need the money but they each think the other one is doing it for some vain reason. Once they do the show and they grow closer, they eventually open up to each other and get to know them and ask the questions they have always wanted answered. As the cameras roll they can’t show off their new relationship because of ratings so they still have to act somewhat the same.

On top of the show Tim and Tabitha are also having to deal with their parents. Tims mom has early Dementia and he wants to hide it from his sister and try and take matters into his own hands and that is what he wants to do is send her to this fancy center that he can’t afford but needs the money for. Tabitha is having to deal with her parents acting like children. Tim is so controlling and tried to fix things on his own before talking to anyone and Tabitha told him they need to be talking out things together and him not trying to handle it all.

Anyways such a great read. :) Hope you enjoy it.

Inn Love Again is a second chance romance set on a home remodel reality show. Tabitha and Tim were childhood friends who almost ended up together but things didn’t work out. They reconnect later in life, with Tim eventually ending up as the contractor to remodel Tabitha’s parent’s house. After finding out Tim has signed up for a camera crew to join him on the remodel, Tabitha agrees to join the show for the prize money.
I love sassy Tabitha and sweet, caring Tim but I could have done without the miscommunication, in the past and the present. There were so many side characters that I wish we had more time with, like Trystan and Poppy, Isla, the brothers, and especially the farm animals. Also, American readers should prepare themselves for a lot of English slang and banter.
The pacing was both fast and slow, weeks passed in a blink but then the story lulled in spots, meanwhile the ending made me feel like I was running a race. The chapters ended abruptly, sometimes mid conversation, and then restart which makes the story feel choppy. Despite the characters being 30+, I often found the story and writing a bit juvenile, and that’s coming from someone also in their 30s. The 2nd, 3rd, and 4th act break ups make me wonder if the writer even wants these characters to be happy.

Inn Love Again by Jody Brettkelly is exactly the kind of cozy, chemistry-filled escape you want to curl up with. If you love your romance with a side of chaos, renovation drama, and unresolved tension, then this is the book for you!
The reality show premise is such a fun hook! Watching four teams compete to transform homes into businesses adds a lively, almost cinematic energy to the story. The crumbling Cotswolds manor (complete with a delightful animal menagerie) makes for a charming and slightly chaotic backdrop that feels vivid and immersive.
Tabitha is easy to root for, She's driven, a little overwhelmed, and deeply committed to saving her family home. And then there’s Tim… the rugged builder with a complicated past and even more complicated history with Tabitha.
Their second-chance dynamic is packed with tension, banter, and just enough emotional depth to keep things grounded. The “he ghosted her years ago” trope is handled well, though I did find myself wanting just a bit more exploration of that past hurt.
The romance itself is warm, spark-filled, and satisfying, even if it leans slightly predictable at times. Still, the charm of the setting, the reality TV antics, and the undeniable chemistry between the leads more than make up for it.

Thank you, Greys Promo, for this ARC!

Tabitha is in a bit of a bind. She’s helping her parents renovate their place, because if it doesn’t get finished in time, they’re moving in with her. At the same time, she’s taking on a new project to turn the property into an inn, adding even more pressure to her plate.

Enter Tim: the contractor on the job, and someone from Tabitha’s past. They were once close friends who spent so much time together… until things got messy in their twenties and they went their separate ways.

Now, Tim is part of a reality TV renovation show, and when the director notices the undeniable tension and chemistry between them, he insists they work on the project together. Being forced into close quarters with someone you’ve avoided for years? Definitely not ideal.

Or is it?

This was such a cute read! I’m always a sucker for a good romcom and this one delivered! Especially with the banter between Tabitha and Tim.

There’s a lot to unpack between these two. Both are dealing with personal struggles, past hurt, and unresolved feelings, which made their journey feel emotional and layered.

Watching them slowly learn to trust each other again was such a rewarding part of the story, and it all came together beautifully in the end.

- Enemies to lovers
- Second chance
- Small town romance
- BANTER

Do you ever read a book and picture it absolutely clearly as a movie? That was this book for me.

First of all, a small town in the Cotswalds? Yes.
Second of all, a hunky handyman? Double yes!
Third of all, banter to make me cackle? All of the yes!

I truly loved this book. The friends to more to enemies to lovers trope needs to be in my permanent rotation because I could not get enough of this.

Tim was so sweet, but so clueless about some things. But one thing he knew for sure is that he wants to be with Tabitha.

Tabs, on the other hand, is a bit of a mess. She's working all of the time just to try to make her parents' dream come true (which is actually so sweet). She is newly single, but no way wants to be with her former friend Tim, even though he still looks very hawt.

When circumstances lead Tabitha to be on the same reality show that Tim is starting, the duo have mixed emotions, which of course they don't communicate...

This story was witty and I flew through it. I can't wait to see what the author has in store for us in book 2!!

What happens when you mix a worn-down manor, an appealing contractor, a Home and Garden editor, and the chance to win a £100,000 grand prize?

You get a cozy, charming romance set in a small town, all about giving love a second shot.

Inn Love Again offers:
Fun, lighthearted character banter
Quirky parents
Delightful farm animal antics
Heartwarming romantic moments
The story moves at a comfortable pace, making it perfect for a binge read. The main characters share a natural, slow-burn relationship that warms your heart.

Inn Love Again is a comforting, cozy romance that’s perfect for curling up and enjoying on a rainy spring day. It’s entertaining, humorous, and easy to read, with themes of second chances, family drama, loyalty, and more.
I found this novel enjoyable; it presented a sweet romance that isn’t usually my type of read. It’s a gentle, slow burn that gradually reveals how much the two main characters care for each other. Tabitha's relationship with her parents felt relatable, just as Tim's bond with his mother resonated. It shows that while family can be tiring, they are also everything. And Ultimately, everyone deserves a second chance.

This story blends family struggles, fresh starts, and a slow-burn, second-chance romance set on a countryside Inn remodeling and a home renovation TV show backdrop. Tabitha and Tim childhood friends who almost had their moment on their twentties reconnect to transform her parents’ home into an Inn, and their chemistry is still very much there.

I enjoyed the cozy vibe, the banter, the lovable side characters and specially the animals stole my heart—Goatee and Larry the llama were absolute highlights. That said, the repeated miscommunication and breakups pull me of a little. The pacing dragged at times, and despite being in their 30s, the characters occasionally came across as a bit immature for me, especially Tabitha.

Overall, it’s a soft, fun, and easy read that’s perfect when you’re in the mood for something sweet and light.

Thank you to the author and Grey's Promotion fo the eARC, this is my honest review.

Inn Love Again is a super sweet rom-com.

Tabitha is an editor at a Home & Garden magazine who is helping her eccentric parents renovate their estate into an inn. Tim is a local contractor working on the renovations and a former childhood friend of Tabitha's. They had a falling out when he ghosted her after a 2 week summer fling when they were 25.

Tim is also a contestant on a renovation reality show and Tabitha gets roped in as a designer by the director. They both need the prize money and are keeping secrets about why.

Tim is head over heels in love with Tabitha but she hasn't forgiven him for ghosting her.

There is fun banter, eccentric parents, cute roaming animals, and sweet romantic moments. It was a fun, fast read.

Still chuckling.

Off the top, I will say that there is no way I would ever appear on reality TV. However, I loved this book, and I do understand and even empathize with this FMC and MMC and their reasons for participating. These characters are realistic and very well written; they kept me laughing and I even had tears in my eyes at one point. I have to say also that Tabitha’s parents cracked me up and made me roll my eyes as well. I also loved the animals! This is a hysterically funny romantic comedy with an enemies to lovers twist. It has some steam and some surprising twists in the plot that kept me engrossed from the first page to the last. I highly recommend this book to other readers.

I received an advance copy of this book because I follow the author Jody Brettkelly, whose previous stories I’ve really enjoyed.

The reality TV twist set in a small town felt fresh and fun, and the enemies-to-lovers romance between Tabitha and Tim had me laughing and rooting for them the whole way. They really carry the story, and their banter had me cracking up—it reminded me of one of my couple friends. Their slow-burn, second-chance romance kept me invested without ever feeling overwhelming.

Brettkelly has a unique, very Kiwi writing style that blends witty banter, family drama, and heartfelt moments. I highly recommend this to anyone who loves contemporary romance with humor and heart.

This was absolutely this sweetest book ever. This is book one in the Amor inn series. Tabitha and Tim are the sweetest two people. They history, hurt, and that questionable thoughts can we really do this. Tabitha's family has a crumble in Manor that she wants to restore. Which comes with a chaotic renovation, Second Chance Romance, and everything just absolutely dreamy. I felt the author did an amazing job with the chemistry and the romance. I felt like it was not rushed it was natural and just flowed beautifully. I did love the banter between the two main characters it just spot on. Overall, this was just a really good book something wholesome to read. This is going to be an amazing series and I cannot wait to see how book 2 is.

✨ Book Review: Inn Love Again by Jody Brettkelly ✨
⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)

This one had all the makings of a cozy, feel-good romance, and it definitely delivered on the warm, comforting vibes ☕️💕

That said, the British banter was a little hard to follow at times, which pulled me out of the story here and there. I also found myself wishing for more time with the side characters—they had potential but didn’t feel fully explored.

The slow burn romance was… just okay for me. And if you’re like me and not the biggest fan of the miscommunication trope, just know that it plays a big role in this story 😅

Overall, still a sweet, cozy read that’s perfect if you’re in the mood for something light and comforting

The story beautifully blends small-town coziness with the excitement of second chances. The setting itself feels like a character, with its inviting atmosphere and close-knit community adding depth and authenticity to the narrative. It’s easy to picture yourself there, wrapped in the comfort of familiar faces and new possibilities.

What really stands out is the chemistry between the main characters. Their connection feels natural and unforced, developing through meaningful moments rather than rushed plot points. The emotional stakes are relatable, touching on themes of growth, forgiveness, and rediscovering love when you least expect it.

This is an easy to read, slow burn story, with family, friendships, emotions, tension, opposites attract, enemies / lovers, second chances, humour, witty banter, undeniable chemistry, and love, which leads to an enjoyable page turner.
I loom forward to reading more from this author in the future.

Tabitha is doing a home renovation show to renovate her parents' inn. She finds herself paired up with her ex Tim. He who ghosted her years ago, and she's never forgiven him for it. They get off to a great start with their constant back-and-forth, which does wonders for the show's ratings. Despite their initial start, they soon find themselves reconnecting. You feel for Tim, he tries to do the right thing by not involving anyone in his plans, trying not to hurt or involve them. But it always tends to backfire on him.
I recieved an arc for my voluntary honest review for NN Book Blog. If you love a second-chance romcom, then you will enjoy this book.

I liked this! She's a new to me author & this is Tabitha & Tim's story. They grew up together & have a lot of history. He's trying to win prize money to help his mom & she's trying to do the same for her parents. Unfortunately, they really don't get along & they argue a lot. The reality show loves it & wants them constantly at each other's throats. But they do have undeniable chemistry & they fight the attraction for as long as they can. This book has a lot of English slang, so be prepared for that. I liked the story & loved the spice! Recommend this book & author!

This was a really cute romcom that brought some good banter between our two MC's. Both characters had some growing up to do, which I really enjoyed seeing throughout the book.

I really hated Tabitha's parents and her inability to not trust them. I personally would have written them off years ago, but to each their own.

Overall I enjoyed taking my time with the book and the story that brought these two together.

A cozy, small town romance with fun banter. Tim and Tabitha were childhood friends who had a two week fling when they were twenty-five but he ghosted her. So there are some hard feelings there.

When they both end up on renovation reality show, it brings fun banter and sweet romantic moments. Especially because Tim is still in love with Tabitha.

Inn Love Again was a sweet and really fun story. I did have a hard time following the story line in the first half, it felt a little disconnected. But once I got a little more used to the style of writing, I was able to really get to know Tim and Tabitha. The relationship they have is addictive and exasperating all at once! I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys an angsty romance!
