The world has changed. Canada's moment to build is now.
In the 21st century, there is no sovereignty without technology. The 2026 BetaKit Most Ambitious issue spotlights Canadian companies, researchers, and community builders strengthening our nation’s autonomy, security, and prosperity.
Presented By
MOST AMBITIOUS—2026 ISSUE
The 2026 Themes
BetaKit Most Ambitious was created to tell stories of Canadian ambition, because the stories we tell ourselves show us what is possible. This year, we are proud to spotlight nearly 100 innovators with the ambition to strengthen Canadian sovereignty.
Innovation is the strategic infrastructure that will help determine and reinforce our global position. We have everything we need to build the Canada we want.
How we selected Canada’s Most Ambitious
The contents of BetaKit Most Ambitious were determined solely by BetaKit’s editorial team. Honourees were selected based on their clear and demonstrated ambition to further Canada’s autonomy, security, and long-term prosperity. BetaKit has worked hard to tell the stories of their ambitions and why they matter to Canada throughout the pages that follow.
To compile this list of ambitious Canadians, BetaKit relied on a variety of sources. First and foremost was our own research and reporting. BetaKit also solicited input from ecosystem partners and innovation leaders from across the country, including previous Most Ambitious honourees, and we are grateful for their help in identifying Canadian individuals and organizations worthy of recognition.
All selections were made at the discretion of BetaKit’s editorial team, and no honourees paid for their consideration or inclusion.
Of course, not every ambitious Canadian is listed in this year’s issue. We are fortunate that our nation’s aspirations are too big and numerous to fit in a single magazine, particularly one built on the theme of sovereignty. For more stories on all the ways that Canadian innovators are building a stronger, more prosperous nation, follow our ongoing coverage on BetaKit.com.
