Project Plan Ahead
The Ohio Traffic Safety Office (OTSO) launched Project Plan Ahead, a statewide initiative providing rideshare credits during high-risk holidays and events. This program aims to reduce impaired driving, save lives, and prevent traffic fatalities on Ohio roadways by giving drivers a convenient alternative to get home without driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
Through the program, participants can claim up to $15 in free Uber or Lyft ride share credits. Any remaining balance beyond the $15 credit is the rider’s responsibility. Rides must originate in or have a destination within one of seven participating counties:
- Butler (Hamilton)
- Cuyahoga (Cleveland)
- Franklin (Columbus)
- Hamilton (Cincinnati)
- Lucas (Toledo)
- Montgomery (Dayton)
- Summit (Akron)
OTSO will activate Project Plan Ahead again other holidays in 2026: Labor Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas/New Years. Check the Project Plan Ahead website for details about future eligibility and participating transportation partners.
