Chapman Selected to the 2024 NCAA Basketball Academy Staff

MONTEVALLO, Ala. – Montevallo Head Women's Basketball Coach Olivia Chapman has been selected as part of the 2024 NCAA College Basketball Academy coaching staff.

During the final weekend of July, Chapman heads to the Rock Hill Sports and Events Center in Rock Hill, S.C. to help coach up to 300 women's basketball prospective student-athletes from the 2025, 2026, and 2027 recruiting classes. The NCAA College Basketball Academy coaching staff is comprised of NCAA Div. II and Div. III, NAIA, junior college and high school coaches from across the nation. Chapman joins Mississippi College head coach Greg Long as the only Gulf South Conference coaches selected to as part of the academy's coaching staff.

The Falcons' head coach is the second Montevallo head coach in as many seasons to be selected as part of the academy's coaching staff. Chapman is set to lead a team of eight to nine prospects through the invite-only academy that features tournament play, an athletics skills assessment as well as life skill courses.

The weekend-long event aims to provide prospective student athletes with a sample of the college basketball experience while pairing high-level basketball competition with instruction on life skills.

The academy features three days of basketball training, skill development, and games while participants and their chaperons attend life skill courses about NCAA eligibility and compliance, the recruiting process, NIL opportunities, agents, and the transfer portal.
