Less than half a car length. That's all that separated Felix Rosenqvist and David Malukas on Sunday — the closest finish in the 110-year history of the Indianapolis 500. Add a record 70 lead changes, a red flag inside 10 laps to go, and a wheel-to-wheel sprint to the checkered flag, and you have one of the greatest races this sport has ever produced. Congratulations, Felix. Soon your face will be cast in sterling silver on the BorgWarner Trophy, joining every Indy 500 champion. There's no honor in motorsport quite like it, and BorgWarner is proud to have been part of that tradition for nearly a century. But here's what sticks with me from Sunday: The driver wins the trophy. It takes a team to put him there. Hundreds of engineers, strategists, and pit crew members making thousands of decisions in perfect sync at 230 mph. Excellence as a discipline.
