INDIANAPOLIS – For the first time since 2016, the University of Montevallo men's basketball team will compete in the NCAA Division II Tournament.

After compiling a 20-10 record and finishing third in the Gulf South Conference, UM has earned the No. 6 seed in the NCAA Division II South Regional tournament and will face No. 3 seed, Florida Southern, Saturday, Mar. 15 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.
This is Montevallo's 12th selection to the NCAA Division II tournament and the first since 2016. The Falcons have been selected to the south regional four times previously and to the southeast regional seven times.
All time, the Falcons are 22-11 in the NCAA tournament with eight sweet 16 appearances, three elite eight runs, a final four trip and a national championship appearance.
Montevallo last participated in the NCAA tournament on Mar. 12, 2016, in the Southeast Regional, held in Harrogate, Tenn. against Wingate. Between 2003 and 2016 the Falcons made the tournament 11 times.
