ABOUT INDIVISIBLE WESTSIDE LA
Indivisible Westside Los Angeles is an open and active community chapter of Indivisible, a nationwide grassroots movement of thousands of local groups with a mission to hold our representatives accountable, elect progressive leaders, and strengthen our democracy with an active and engaged citizenry. We continue to fight to defeat an extremist right-wing agenda that seeks to divide us while concentrating wealth and power in the hands of the few. We maintain a presence and voice in our representatives' offices, guiding our elected officials toward policy that moves us closer toward a more just, equitable, and healthy society. We work on local, statewide, and federal campaigns that align with our values by mobilizing in the community and at the ballot box. We also engage in peaceful demonstrations in accordance with rights guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution. We are dedicated to operating within a framework of inclusion, respect and fairness as we strive to achieve our goals. We are primarily based in California’s 32nd, 36th, and 37th Congressional Districts but welcome members from other nearby districts and statewide.
We send a weekly email newsletter with a coordinated action item, local events calendar, resources, news and notes, etc. We hold a member meeting on the second Saturday of each month, with a rotation of strictly virtual meetings on Zoom, and in-person/zoom hybrid meetings.
We work by connecting ordinary citizens to their elected representatives at the state and federal level. This means contacting them weekly by phone or email and also meeting regularly with them or their staff members. To be effective, we need to know who represents you!
Lastly, please note that it may take us several days to process your member form. Our group is fully run by volunteers, and we vet every person who applies to join the group to ensure the safety of our members. Please be honest and accurate in your responses and thank you for your patience.
