NNERPP STUDENT VOICE FOR RPPs AWARDS PROGRAM We are pleased to announce the second round of NNERPP’s awards program, "Student Voice 4 RPPs." This awards program recognizes, honors, and further supports existing RPP efforts that have a strong interest in and/or currently support youth involvement in RPP work (for the purposes of this awards program, "youth" is defined as young people between the ages of 14 and 24). Through an application process, NNERPP member RPPs will be selected for awards of up to $7,500 for further developing, expanding, or strengthening student involvement strategies. The awards may be used to support a variety of innovative involvement activities including (but not limited to) focus groups, podcasts, videos, multimedia presentations, and other forms of engagement.
We hope that you will join us in this awards program! Please don’t hesitate to contact Kim Wright, NNERPP Assistant Director, with your questions.
Applications are due January 27, 2023.

NEW MEMBER: CENTER FOR EQUITY AND POSTSECONDARY ATTAINMENT Join us in welcoming our newest member: Center for Equity and Postsecondary Attainment (CEPA)! CEPA is dedicated to dismantling systems that contribute to the marginalization and oppression of any group. Utilizing research and scholarship, the center focuses on postsecondary advising practices and policies that increase equitable and accessible pathways to postsecondary success for all students. Partner organizations include San Diego State University, San Diego State University Research Foundation, Hoover High School, Price Philanthropies, and members of the City Heights community. Welcome to NNERPP!
TOPIC: Please join us for a new member spotlight this month, where we hear from the Illinois Workforce and Education Research Collaborative (IWERC)! The talk will focus on three specific methodological challenges faced by RPPs in conducting research: (1) collecting and analyzing data on racial/ethnic identification, (2) working with public data sets with specific ways of defining and sharing variables, and (3) determining what level of data (e.g., district, school, student) are needed to conduct robust analyses. We hope to outline these challenges and discuss ideas for effective management of these issues.
NNERPP aims to develop and support RPPs in education in order to improve the connection between research, policy, and practice.
