About: Mock Draft

The Slyder Mock Draft Lobby is a key feature of the platform and is a great tool for all AFL fantasy drafters.

A mock draft is a simulated draft to help prepare for a real fantasy draft, allowing users to gauge player value and understand where certain players are likely to be chosen in a real fantasy draft.

The Slyder Mock Draft allows you to go against other real-life drafters. Draft spots that aren’t filled by users will be taken up by our educated computers. The computers’ ranks are regularly updated and learn from other player draft strategies to give you a realistic mock draft experience at all times, even when drafting by yourself.

We offer three types of Mock Drafts:

• Season: A regular draft tailored for single season redraft leagues who are drafting for the best team for this season

• Keeper-New: Tailored for teams taking part of a keeper league and drafting for the first time. Every player will be in the player pool, however players with youth on their side will be prioritised

• Keeper-Existing: Tailored for keeper leagues who have played more than one season where the best players are kept and aren’t available in their league. We have removed the players that are normally kept from the pool to make it as realistic as possible

🦊 MOCK DRAFT LOBBY

The Mock Draft Lobby is where the mocks begin. Each box indicate an upcoming mock for the day and allow you to join.

To join a mock, simply select a number which relates to a draft position for that draft. If a spot is taken, will be greyed out. Have pick 6 in an upcoming draft? Filter for all the mock drafts where pick 6 is available!

You can also filter for and select a draft that best represents your league settings, such as league type (Single Season, Keeper - New or Keeper - Existing), number of teams and total squad size.

🦊 THE MOCK DRAFT

You can enter a mock draft room 30 minutes prior to the draft starting. Don’t worry, you can still join, change position or leave the draft right up until the draft commenses.

The mock draft incaptuates the full features of the Slyder draft platform, including the advanced stats, filtering and our dynamic draft board. It’s not only a great way to prepare for a real fantasy draft by seeing when certain players are available and when they come off the board, but it also allows you to properly test out Slyder before you decide what platform your league will draft on for the upcoming season.

🦊 MOCK DRAFT RESULTS

Once the mock is over, you will be able to see all the picks from the draft under Mock Draft Results. Analyse your selections and where all the key players went. This can be handy to refer to when going into your main draft.

We encourage you to share your draft results amongst friends and social media via the Share button. Make sure you tag us at @SlyderAFL. When on mobile, press Share then Download.

🦊 YOUR DRAFT QUEUE

Just like a real draft on Slyder, you will have access to the two queues (Season and Keeper) that can be set prior to entering the Draft Room. Toggle between either, depending on the League Type, and even set your auto draft preference to one of your queues to see how it fares!
