LITTLE ROCK, Ark. – Little Rock Head Basketball Coach
Darrell Walker announced the addition of former Arkansas Razorbacks and Texas A&M Aggies guard
Khalen Robinson to the Trojans' program.
Â
A 6-foot-0, 180-pound guard that spent last season at Texas A&M, Robinson returns to his hometown of Little Rock to continue his collegiate career. According to 247Sports' recruiting rankings for 2020, Robinson was rated the No. 39 prospect (a 4-star) in the nation. He will be one of the highest-rated prospects to wear the Maroon and Silver.
Â
"KK might be one of the highest-rated guys that has ever played in the Ohio Valley Conference," Walker said. "He is explosive, can score on or off the ball and has impressive quickness. We look for him to provide leadership for us on the court and in the locker room."
Â
Robinson appeared in 18 games while making two starts last season for the Aggies, shooting 47.6% from the field. In his lone season in College Station, he averaged 1.8 points in 5.6 minutes per game and shot 64.7% from the charity stripe.
Â
His venture to Texas A&M came after two seasons in Fayetteville where he appeared in 30 games, shooting over 37% from the field. Robinson scored 15 points in his collegiate debut his freshman season with three assists, three rebounds and a steal against Mississippi Valley State and played in the first 11 games of that 2020-21 season before an injury prematurely ended his season.
Â
The following season, Robinson bounced back to appear in 18 games for the Hogs, averaging 1.9 points with 24 assists and grabbed a career-high four steals in just over four minutes against Missouri.
Â
He played most of his high school career in the Natural State before transferring to the prestigious Oak Hill Academy in Virginia to play his senior year in 2019-20. At Oak Hill, he was the starting point guard on a team that ascended to No. 2 in the national high school rankings at one point in the season.
Â
Robinson played his sophomore (2017-18) and junior (2018-19) seasons at Bryant High School in Arkansas and led the Hornets to the 7A state title game in 2019. As a high school freshman in 2016-17, Robinson led Episcopal Collegiate in Little Rock to the school's only state championship (Class 3A) in basketball while earning title-game MVP honors.
