Hughesy enjoyed his best season yet scoring 32 goals becoming the leagues top goalscorer & creating some memorable moments especially on our historic FA Vase run. With this brings natural interest higher up the pyramid but Alex Hughes isn't going anywhere....

"Alport is my home, my club. I belong here and after the season I had last year I definitely have more to give for sure. The interest I received from a higher standard is always nice, it shows what a good season I had on a personal level.

The gaffer made the decision a lot easier when we sat down for a good hour or so and he told me all about his plans. We're definitely on the same page with what we both want to achieve this season and that’s to be right up there for the league.

My ambition is to be top goalscorer in the league once again/ help assist more/ help the team win as many games as possible. The teams ambition has to be the league we know all about the league after last season, we know every opposition and what we have to do to beat them.

We need you the Red Army to create more unbelievable memories like last season. I can’t wait to be back out on pitch and winning games for you in that red shirt, this is a special Club and it's about to create more history"

The Club has rewarded the forward with a one year contract deal to secure the signature until May 2023. We look forward to more memories ahead of this season.
