On Sunday, September 27th Southampton Women’s Reserves Southern Region match against Chichester City was abandoned due to an unfortunate event

In the 45th minute, Southampton player Eleanor Reid collapsed on the pitch where she received treatment on the pitch until an ambulance arrived.

Eleanor was unconscious but breathing when she was taken to the hospital to receive further treatment.

The latest update the club has is that El has woken up today and is speaking to the medical staff and her family at the hospital.

Everyone at the club sends their best wishes to El and her family at this time and we have offered our unwavering support to the family.

For our players and staff present on the day support will also be offered and provided following the upsetting events on Sunday.
