Perthshire curler Eve Muirhead leads Team GB to GOLD at Winter Olympics

It was a dream come true for Muirhead and her team as they defeated Japan to be crowned champions in Beijing

It was the moment she had always dreamed of - now it has become reality.


Proud Perthshire curler Eve Muirhead has guided Team GB to a memorable GOLD medal at the 2022 Winter Olympics.


The spectacular skip from Blair Atholl, alongside Vicky Wright, Jen Dodds, Hailey Duff and, of course, with the support of alternate Mili Smith from Guildtown, produced brilliance in Beijing to pen a success story never to be forgotten.


An assured, controlled and experienced performance was too much for Japan in Sunday’s final. Team GB triumphed 10-3.

This was Muirhead’s fourth Winter Olympics and she had started the event with the honour of being flagbearer at the opening ceremony.

The 31-year-old returns home with a famous and deserved gold.
