CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – A pair of former Lady Tigers will find themselves sitting in new seats on the bench for the Campbellsville University women's basketball team as
Madison Clements and
Madison Faulkner are officially named assistant coaches for the 2020-21 season.
Clements and Faulkner will be will work under head coach
Ginger High Colvin and lead assistant
Miranda Denney, sharing responsibilities on the bench for Lady Tiger basketball after former Lady Tiger player and coach Lindsey Burd departed to take a position with Taylor County Middle School. They will share responsibilities due to each working away from CU athletics with Clements working at Campbellsville Middle School and Faulkner working as a Resident Director at CU.
Clements elevates from a student/graduate assistant to assistant coach after assisting the coaching staff the previous two seasons after her playing career ended after the 2017-18 season. In her four-year playing career at Campbellsville, the two-time All-MSC selection played in 125 total games with 64 starts as she finished with a 9.4 points per game average, including being the Lady Tigers' leading scorer in her senior season with a 12.7 points per game average.
Just finishing her senior season in March of 2020, Faulkner will move to an assistant coaching role after being a Lady Tigers leader on the floor for her four-year career. Faulkner led the team in rebounding average in her sophomore (4.6 rpg), junior (6.1 rpg), and senior (5.8 rpg) seasons while also being the team's leading point scorer as a junior (13.0 ppg) and senior (17.5 ppg). She finished her career boasting three All-Conference selections, NAIA All-American First team and Honorable Mention selections, and was also the back-to-back NCCAA Player of the Year in 2018-19 and 2019-20.
Both will be on the court in their new roles this month as preseason workouts for the 2020-21 season will begin shortly for Lady Tiger basketball as the team prepares for the upcoming year.
