NNERPP HOLDS ANNUAL FORUM IN FOXBOROUGH, MASSACHUSETTS

Hey, NNERPP! We had a deeply inspiring and highly productive learning experience last week at the 2019 NNERPP Annual Forum held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, and are still amazed at all the insights shared by a fantastic group of over 140 participants! Attendees represented 40 RPPs from across the country and included researchers, local and state education agency representatives, and invited guests from relevant foundations, research centers, and other education organizations. Together we embarked on the RPP journey of learning in pursuit of equity and excellence, through role-alike workshops, topical discussions on RPP effectiveness, a “how to” learning series, a collection of solutions labs, and many, many individual conversations on all-things-RPP. See some highlights from our gathering below!

Now, the journey continues as we organize, share, and build on the knowledge that was created during the Forum – we look forward to having you join us as we move to our next destination!

Our deep appreciation goes to Jonathan and Patti Kraft for hosting us in the amazing space, and to our family of funders, whose continued support of NNERPP makes this event possible: the William T. Grant Foundation, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Spencer Foundation, The Annie E. Casey Foundation, and The Wallace Foundation.

A big thank you to our wonderful co-hosts, Carrie Conaway and her team from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Research Partnerships!

Last but certainly not least, we are immensely grateful for our outstanding group of facilitators, as well as the terrific participation of our attendees, whose collective enthusiasm for learning and problem-solving makes the NNERPP Annual Forum such a unique experience.
"How Has Attendance in NYC Schools Changed Over Time?": Chelsea Farley, Kayla Stewart, and James Kemple examine trends in student attendance in New York City Schools between 2000 and 2018.

"Recasting Families and Communities as Co-Designers of Education in Tumultuous Times": Ann M. Ishimaru and colleagues share learnings from a project working to engage the collective leadership of families and communities of color in transforming educational systems.
