Webinar Overview:
Mental health in sport is vogue. Having played second fiddle to physical, performance-specific issues for so long, wider mental health seemingly has its hour in the sun. In this symposium, we explore the extent of knowledge on mental health in sport and we challenge commonly held assumptions. We also critique the sincerity of the sudden concern for wider athlete welfare, drawing distinctions
between outfacing policy and everyday reality. Our conclusions muse as to what all this means for the future of the sport psychologist.

Learning Outcomes:
- Describe mental illness symptoms and disorders in athletes
- Identify key risk-factors that may contribute to athlete mental health issues
- Discuss interdisciplinary approaches improving athlete mental health
