CHARLESTON, S.C. – Charleston Southern men's basketball head coach Barclay Radebaugh announced Tuesday that assistant coach Thomas Butters has been elevated to Assistant Head Coach.
 
Butters enters his sixth season as a member of Radebaugh's staff beginning his time as the video coordinator before moving his way up to director of operations, assistant coach and now assistant head coach.
 
"We are really excited to promote Coach Butters. He is such a vital part of our overall program and is very deserving," Radebaugh said. "Tee has grown each year that he has been at CSU because he has great professional habits and attacks his responsibilities with energy and positivity."
 
A 2011 graduate of Clemson University, Butters began his coaching career as a graduate assistant and student manager under both Oliver Purnell and Brad Brownell.
 
"I am thankful to Coach Radebaugh and the rest of the staff here at CSU. We are blessed to work with great people who work well together, have fun, expect you to bring your best and push you to grow," Butters said. "I am excited and thankful for this promotion and eager to continue the progress we are making at Charleston Southern."
 
Butters first came to CSU as the video coordinator in 2014-15 and promptly earned a promotion to director of operations the following summer. Butters was then was elevated to assistant coach two years later.
 
"Tee has grown into an excellent recruiter and has a very unique ability to relate to players, parents and coaches. He is very thorough and detailed," Radebaugh said. "Tee also has been responsible for the obvious development of our perimeter players. All of our guards and wings have improved during his time here."
 
Radebaugh added, "Tee has a sharp basketball IQ and has really helped our team grow particularly on the offensive side. He has such a bright future in this profession and we are all looking forward to his future contributions at CSU."
