LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The 2020-21 radio voice of Bellarmine women's basketball Jack Kizer has joined Bellarmine University athletics as an assistant director of athletics communications.
Kizer called all 22 games on radio for the Knights' women's basketball team last season. He served as the broadcast and media relations assistant for the Dayton Dragons in 2021, where he broadcasted all 60 home games and select road games. The Dragons are the High-A affiliate of the Cincinnati Reds in minor league baseball.
"I am thrilled to join an outstanding communications staff and athletics department at Bellarmine," Kizer said. "I want to thank Assistant AD for Communication
John Spugnardi and the entire hiring committee for believing in me. I can't wait to bring my passion for sports and student-athletes to Bellarmine and Knights nation. I'm excited to help continue expanding the success of the university and its student-athletes through storytelling on all platforms."
Prior to his role with Dayton and Bellarmine women's basketball, Kizer spent four years as a telecommunications major and marketing minor at Ball State University. Through Ball State and other outlets, Kizer has broadcasted nine different sports on TV and radio platforms including ESPN+, ACC Network Extra, and Learfield IMG College.
He gained experience behind the camera as an executive producer, videographer, and editor at Ball State. Kizer's award-winning video work, writing, social media content, and studio hosting have been featured on NCAA social platforms, NCAA.com, Bleacher Report, and espnW. In 2019 and 2020, he was named as a finalist for the Jim Nantz Award, honoring the nation's top collegiate broadcaster.
Kizer received his bachelor's degree from Ball State in 2020 with summa cum laude honors. His telecommunications major was concentrated in digital sports production, while Kizer also earned a minor in marketing.
