The Austin Police Department has identified a man who died after being shot while selling ice cream in a North Austin neighborhood last month.

It happened Tuesday, June 23, at around 3:10 p.m. at the Serena Park Apartments on Northgate Boulevard just south of West Rundberg Lane.

The Austin Police Department said officers responding to a shooting call found the elderly victim, identified as 68-year-old Adelaido Bernabe Urias, lying in the complex's parking lot.

He was transported by EMS to Dell Seton Medical Center at the University of Texas with life-threatening injuries.

Urias died yesterday at 5:10 p.m.

Adelaido Bernabe Urias died Wednesday after being shot last week during a robbery.

Investigators say Urias is known to residents in the area to sell ice cream and was pushing his cart through the complex when three males confronted him -- witnesses said one of the suspects shot the man after attempting to rob him, before all three fled.

The Travis County Medical Examiner’s office will conduct an autopsy to determine the official cause and manner of death.

Detectives are asking anyone with video or information about this incident to call APD Homicide at 512-974-TIPS.

Meanwhile, Urias' family has set up a GoFundMe for funeral expenses.
